We should have scored a 69, our best second ball on a par 5 was right on the fringe of the green (that was my shot, one of my few contributions to the team effort) and not one of us could manage a decent putt (in fairness, it was about 50 feet) and then nobody holed out from there (maybe an 8 foot putt). Should have birdied that hole...

In fairness, 3 of us sucked. I cranked a few drives and second shots and one of the other guys had a decent short game and could putt pretty good, but there was only one guy who was any good, we ended up playing half of his shots or more. He told me he was a 7 handicap. Also, the weather was foul, freezing cold and windy...

I would love to see a best ball tourny with 4-player teams of pros. I wonder what kind of scores those teams would turn in. You'd have to figure that at least one of them would one-putt almost every hole...

I was on a scramble team last year that shot 51. We won. It's hard to imagine that pros could have done much better than we did. They probably could have made a couple more eagles but that's about it.

On a normal par, I would say that 50 (I guess if one par four green was drivable, 49) is as good as it is going to get.

I played more last summer than I did in the past five summers combined, but I have only played nine holes since September. I am supposed to be playing Saturday if the weather holds. The fiance's club is a Donald Ross course (I become a member upon marriage) in decent shape (the greens are bent, which helps with holding those bastards...thank God they're not damn bermuda shit that is as hard as a fucking rock like The Dunes Club in Myrtle). I'll go shoot a fucking 101 or some such shit after starting out respectably and then skulling a bunch of short shit to post a bunch of snow men.

Thats so good to the point I almost want to call bullshit.

Must have been a very short and/or easy course or all of you were on your A game. Usually there are a couple of holes that nobody makes the putt or some shit such as that.

It was pretty short - 6200 yds or so - but not that easy. Lots of water and wind. We did all play well and the combined handicap of the group was probably 2. I know I was 0 at the time and another guy was +1. He and I both played well - he hit it amazing and I made about 200 feet of putts.

Crow would not have let Hedge's grain convention, DSs caddyshack monologue about how many snowmen he carded, nor Cletus' newest 0 handicap humble brag go by with such docility as this thread has recently provided.
