I was expecting nothing out of "Greek" but I found some laughs. I think the key is to keep expectations lower than a crack whore's self esteem.

Hedgehog gets a B, the actual rankings were largely accurate and he got one of the bonuses but there were too many unranked to go any higher.

Uncle Bud would be so ashamed if he knew what The Goat Pen has turned into. It's sad to see it die like this.

This isn't the Uncle Bug thread. Put the box of wine down, the 4th of July weekend hasn't even officially started yet.

"Get Him to the Greek blew chunks."

It was the best thing that dude's been in and, IIRC, some chunks did get blown in that movie...

"but there were too many unranked to go any higher."

I suspect that if I haven't seen it, my comedy antenna must've detected something that led me to not see it. My agents are everywhere, feeding me info on what is worthy and what is not. Sometimes I rush out on my own without waiting for enough data (as in the case of Step Brothers) and am disappointed. I have seen a couple of clips from Dodgeball that made me think that that would be a pretty funny movie, particularly the scene with Lance Armstrong and Vince Vaughn, but I still don't get the feeling that it would be in the first rank. I strongly suspect that the other ones I haven't seen are not worth seeing, or else I would've seen them, and therefor they all get relegated to the bottom grouping by default. If I had to guess, I would put Dodgeball at the bottom of the second group (with Wedding Crashers, etc) or at the top of the next tier (above Zoolander, etc)...

As I indicated, Anchorman stands alone, and by a fairly wide margin, at the top of that list. It belongs with the alltime classics (Caddyshack, Fast Times, Spinal Tap, Dr. Strangelove, Blazing Saddles etc). Although some of the others are indeed highly amusing, they are not in the same category as Anchorman.

As a side note, I'd put the original American Pie easily in the second tier, and near the top. Some friends drug me to a late night viewing when it came out, I was like "WTF, this is some lame high school crap", but I ended up LMAO quite a few times. That was a refreshing case of very low expectations being exceeded by a large margin. I suspect that D'gaul, connoisseur of all things high school comedic, would concur...

Here's one for D'gaul: Not Another Teen Movie or Wet, Hot American Summer?

I ranked Dodgeball higher than most simply on the comedic value of Rip Torn chucking a wrench at Justin Long's bean...I still laugh when I see that.

I'd like you all to consider the fact that the person doing the grading is the same person who has hijacked the college football thread to talk about guys shoving tulips up each other's asses.

Consider.

Wet, Hot American Summer by a fair margin. And yes, both American Pie and Tropic Thunder should've made the original list, the former would probably rank as high as 5th and TT would be maybe a couple of slots lower.

Neither American Pie nor Anchorman is as funny as Friday or Next Friday. Also some of the scenes in Fear & Loathing were as funny as anything I've seen

Oh I see, but you leave out "Friday After Next". Bigot.

Friday After Next was lame even as ghetto comedies go. The Wash was OK even though Dr. Dre has no comedic timing, unlike Snoop Dogg.
