I think if that documentary came out during the election - say September and showed that side of Romney, he would have gone a long way to convince people to vote for him - not necessarily because they agreed with his political philosophy but because it would have gone a long way to wipe out the image he had of "say anything to get elected"

I'm not sure I could have voted for him but I would have felt alot better about him being president.

This shit is just like a movie.

Raymond "Shrimp Boy" Chow, who was charged along with state Sen. Leland Yee on Wednesday, claims he has changed his ways since leaving prison in 2003.

In recent years, the notorious Chinatown gang leader has been telling groups of troubled youths to resist a life of crime while touting his awards from politicians, including U.S. Sen. Dianne Feinstein and San Francisco Mayor Ed Lee, who praised him in July 2012 "for his tenacity and willingness to give back to the community and working 'in the trenches' as a change agent."

His Facebook page features a photo of himself with former San Francisco Mayor Gavin Newsom, now California's lieutenant governor.

But, according to an FBI affidavit unsealed Wednesday, Chow simply adopted the look of legitimacy.

At a February 2012 meeting among Chow, driver and associate George Nieh, and an undercover FBI agent to discuss a shipment of stolen liquor, Chow said, "I don't have any knowledge of the crimes that pay for my meal." Then he added: "I'm still eating though. I'm hungry."

"Chow holds a "supreme authority" position in the Triad, an international Chinese organized crime group; heads the Hop Sing Boys, a San Francisco street gang"

Hop Sing! I saw an interview with Michael Landon where the interviewer asked him "You didn't see many woman on Bonanza, so I have to ask you, were the Cartwrights gay?" and Landon answered "No, but I'm sure glad Hop Sing was"...

Bob Dole winning might have bought Norm MacDonald a few more seasons on SNL...

The Romney doc was really interesting and humanizing. The thing is, the first rule of political campaigns is control the narrative. Romney never effectively worked to do so (esp. during the 47% comment...that was not adequately covered in the documentary, IMO).

yea, without showing it - it really highlights what sleaze goes on behind the scenes. McCain cut a deal with Rove and the GOP ruined Romney in 2008. He couldn't recover even though he won the nomination in 2012.

again - not saying I'd vote for the guy but he was much better suited for the presidency that I ever gave him credit for.

He couldn't recover because he always had to ensure his support on the right. If you only run to the far right or far left, it'll make it hard to win. Romney waited way too long to move to the middle plus his self-inflicted hits (47%) reinforced negative stereotypes about him.

Rand Paul isn't going to go that route - he is going to assume the hard core GOP will vote for him regardless because they won't vote for a liberal.

if that's the case, he'll start to look more progressive in his views over gays, etc.

I saw it today. Pretty confusing. I don't remember him building a huge ass wooden ship in the comics or attempting to murder his grandkids, but Hollywood is really into these crazy adaptations.

It was a Noah joke...saw that last weekend. Cap 2 was good. Possibly better than the first? I thought Thor 2 was better than the first one too

Ahh. Haven't seen Noah. Just Captain and Budapest. Liked both. Although, with the latter, sometimes Wes Anderson is too Wes Anderson. But if you like how Moonrise was shot/directed, you'll probably like Budapest.

If you have any religious beliefs don't see Noah. It's a fantasy movie.

There's a difference between a fantasy movie and a biblical movie?
