No problem with it at all even if it was twisted into something it was not. If you read the transcripts he was saying those two playing together would be like Hitler and the prime minister playing together. He didn't say Oprama was hitler, he was just showing the absurdity of those two who are so opposed to each other playing golf together.

But that doesn't matter, what matters is that ESPN has the right to fire/hire anybody they want as a private company. I could care less if they fired him for that crappy hat he had on. Doesn't matter.

I see the liberals also support ESPN in this.

Now will the liberals on here (tick, dsl, mook etc) say it's OK for Bank of America to go out and fire any employee with an Oprama bumper sticker?

What say you? Would you be as OK with them firing people over supporting Oprama as you are with them doing away with the MNFB song over what Hank said?
Comparing those situations is retarded. You sir are retarded.

I would be OK if a BoA employee went on a national "news" program drunk and or high said something retarded and got fired.

There, that is close to an equivalent situation. Retard.
No, it's not. Both are stating their opinions publically. That's what bumper stickers are. Public support.

Basically I am saying I support ESPN in firing someone based on their publically stated opinion, but it looks like you support ESPN in doing that in this case, but not BOA in their parking lot. Interesting. What's good for the goose is good for the gander.

#1) I would not gave supported MNF for firing Hank Jr. over a bumper sticker, but I do over this. If he had said the same thing about Bush, I would have supported his ouster.

#2) There is a difference between a rank and file grunt and a defacto spokesperson or celebrity for a product.

#3) WTF was Fox thinking? Why are Bocephus' political musings newsworthy?

Hank Jr. is an artistic genius. He must be free to express his creativity.

A bumper sticker on a rank and filer and a defacto spokesperson on a national program are completely different things. Any sane person can make that judgment. That's the problem with you slippery slope doofuses (or is it doofi?)

BTW... why would BoA fire an Obama supporter? They took the bailout from Obama. Just like you conservative shits to take take take and then resent the hand that feeds you.

No, I'm just sayin it's a company's right to fire an employee for whatever the heck they feel like.

Don't like their hair color? Fine.

Fire em for smokin? Yep.

Whatever they want.

Employees are hired to benifit the company and when the company decides they are no longer needed then I am fine for them letting them go.

Just like I am fine with the employee finding another job.

This is provided no contract was broken (if the company or the employee has to provide notice by contract etc).

Now because I support tht right doesn't mean I think it is the right thing to do (fire someone for their hair color for example) but I still support their right to do it.

Jesus, BOJ. Try to look at the small picture. HWJr was, is, and always will be a world-class asshole. It was in his best interest to not drink and show his ass on national tv, but he failed. ESPN did what they had to do. End of story.

Because it got other news stations and newspapers to talk about it and show the clip over and over and over.

Hank Williams, Jr. is a conservative who said something stupid and outrageous, so naturally the 9:1 media is going to give it maximum coverage.

Meanwhile, a liberal celebrity (and a much more prominent one than HWJr, at that) can say whatever ridiculous, inflammatory thing he wants and it barely gets noticed.

Just a few things come to mind:

Celebrities ought to keep their traps shut about politics. And for fucksake please don't trade on your celebrity and run for office.

Morgan Freeman is an asshole. If you've heard more than two of his interviews, you know him to be puffed-up and self-absorbed. It's like he went into character to do Joe Clark and never came out of it.

9:1 whining is fun and never gets old. "We can't get away with anything; you can get away with everything" always gets a chuckle.

I would totally understand and support a company that decided to not use Morgan Freeman as a spokesperson anymore.

I'm sure it was completely legal, at least in the '50's and in a non-union shop. It's probably completely legal today too. All you need is a first line supervisor to say, "You were five minutes late yesterday. You are fired." The employee doesn't even have to be five minutes late. He just needs for someone to say he is five minutes late.

That's all it takes.

BOJ, I always thought you were a pretty decent guy. Now I don't. You are piece of shit. I hope some sleazy med-mal lawyer takes you for everything you are worth.
