I know its become the standard to view Alex Jones as an asshole rather than a crazy person, but IMO he's some mix of both. He's not a rational person with a normal world view, he's a kook who never should have been able to get so big and his actions have always been irrational and not completely coldly calculating, as someone who first came across him on late night access TV in Austin (usually railing against W).
Agreed. But I contend he is far more asshole than crazy. The only reason why I say that is crazy people don't generally have the cognitive ability to pull in $200,000 a day on a personal enterprise.

So. Let's take bets on when Trump gets indicted and who does it 1st. Georgia or Garland? As you know I've had my bet down for a few years now. Not knowing this was coming eventually back in 16 makes y'all look even dumber. We all knew it. Well, most of us anyway.

The torpedo squadrons were not sacrificial lambs by design. All squadrons from American carriers were scrambled without specific coordinates of the Jap carrier positions, they only had general direction. Also, in their haste to find the carriers the groups (torpedo, fighters, dive bombers) did not form up and fly together, each chose their own vector and there was no way they could rendezvous when the Jap carriers were found. By happenstance a torpedo squadron was the first to spot the Japs, and chose heroically to continue the mission w/o cover.

Yeah. I never took it that they were thrown to the slaughter intentionally, just that they happened to be the unlucky SOB's who got the butt end of the stick.
The lecture I linked to also went over the same thing my PWAD (yes...that's the abbreviation for Peace, War & Defense at UNC) History of Naval Power professor told us which was that the "Midway changed the course of the war with Japan!" arguments are mostly bs because we were going to beat the Japanese because of our industrial might, natural resources and population that combined to give us the ability to build, man, and supply ships / carriers and aircraft at literally an exponentially higher rate.
