Yep. As I said from the beginning while some of you morons were jerking it to Gruden, Butch Jones is your next coach.

It's on the UT website so it is official: Butch Jones is now the head coach at UT.

EDIT: Glancing over his resume on UtSports, he looks pretty good. At least he has Div1 Football experience.

EDIT #2: We now get to see the wisdom of hiring a guy who Dooley was able to beat.

EDIT #3: Life is a Butch!!

This guy hasn't coached one game for us and I'm already wishing we had rehired Fulmer... :(

I wonder if we'll be keeping our staff? We need to at least keep the offensive staff I think. I still believe we need to... FIRE SAL!! AND BENCH PALARDY FOREVER!!!

Holy shit. From the May 2012 coaches' ranking from the Sporting News:

28. BUTCH JONES, CINCINNATI

Age 44

At Cincinnati (2 years): 14-11

FBS career (5 years): 41-24

Jones cleaned house in Year 1, dealt with significant injuries and had some wondering about him after a three-win debut. Now look: 10 wins in 2011 from a team that probably shouldn't have reached that high. Next problem for UC: keeping Jones. He won at CMU, he's winning at Cincy. Another big season should lead to a big BCS job (hello, Tennessee).

An NFL scout says: "If you're just looking at the surface, you see him winning with what Brian Kelly built. Don't believe that garbage. He can coach. He was one of those guys a few years ago where you just knew things were coming his way. He's not done, either. Not by a longshot."
"OMG, this is terrible. This is the end of my presidency. I AM FUCKED!"

"You took pictures of this page? LOL!!! With your cellphone or camera?"

Who was a guy who took pictures of his kidney pool and car and put up signs addressed to Rat in the pictures? That was classic...

6 years $18 mil ($1.4 buyout). Butch played the game perfectly. Kudos.

I guess 14-11 at a mid-major school is the proven record that Hart was talking about when he laid out the qualifications for the new coach.

Oh joy... Another offensive minded HC who will sit in the offensive meetings more often ala Dooley. How was our defense this last season, I forget...

Why is everyone wanting Tee Martin to come here and be on the staff? What has he done coaching wise?

Sucks to be Cincy. He isn't going to coach them in the bowl game. He upped and left them pretty good. I hope that doesn't say to much bad about Jones.

I do hope he keeps Chaney. He appears to be a solid offensive coordinator. But, if he gets rid of him then he gets rid of him. That's the nature of the beast I suppose. :(

How exactly does it suck to be Cincy? They know they are a stepping stone.

Has Jones already scheduled the first team meeting in the showers?

Dantino left Cincy before his bowl game. Hell, Kelly left UC for ND before their first ever BCS game in the Sugar. (my Gators killed them). UC is used to it. Next stepping stone coach will do the same. UC will never be but a stepping stone but its a good place to spend 3 years.
