He got to watch Dook lose. I watched the end with him. It was very satisfying.

Hospitals dig that too. I broke many bones in the 70s doing shit like that. Its part of being a kid. And I never received a trophy just for playing either. Had someone attempted to give me one, my dad would have kicked his ass before he gave it to me.

I was caught up in the helmet craze for my '90's son but he'd have nothing to do with it. I let him go without and thank God never needed one. Oh, he ran into the garage and rammed his forehead right into the handle and a couple of years later fell off a friend's bike and cut his chin up, but a helmet would have not benefitted either spill.

SPEAKING OF KIDS IN THE 70S...
Pap Hizzy: "Well, now what's happened to you, boy?"
Me: "I ran over something with the lawnmower and part of it flew into my eye. [rubbing] I can't see out of it."
Pap Hizzy: "Well, you can see out the other one, can't you?"
Me: "Yeah, but..."
Pap Hizzy: "Well, then finish cutting that last piece over there before it starts raining. I'm not coming back out here today."

Other than being occasionally agitated about the Parkinson's, he's doing well. Drives my mother crazy with his idiosyncracies (lays his ass on the sofa and watches Encore Westerns almost every morning for about three hours, constantly rearranges closets and strorage rooms, and so on).

Oh yeah, my mom's had it for years. It's almost like OCD.

Huffy "Thunder Road" bikes, "green" machines (or red or blue, depending on if you fancied the Hulk over Superman and/or Flash) and Kick-N-Go's...

I wore my big wheel out. When I got too big for the last seat adjustment, I just tossed the seat aside and used it as a scooter. Eventually mine broke in half.
I always felt that if you made an adult size big wheel that cost like $60, you'd make a fortune

I thought they did make an adult-sized Big Wheel at one time. It was probably more than $60, though.

I didn't have a Big Wheel. I think those came after me. We played army with rocks, pine cones and sticks.

Speaking of you and girls, I told my wife your peppermint penis story. She laughed until I thought she was gonna pass out and then said, "Men," and walked away.
