honestly, since I don't watch Fox , I didn't hear of the story.
When a crowd is fucking around and they do something like throw a rock at your car, you have two options.
Option 1 - stop the car, get out and confront the rock thrower. Except (and this is where a 35 year old differs from a 16 year old) you aren't going to confront the rock thrower, you're going to confront him and his 6 friends because there is no way in hell they are going to let you wail on their friend in that situation
Option 2 - keep driving the car listening to your girlfriend talk about "are you just going to let them throw a rock at your car?", go home, not have sex and have anger issues every time you see that ding in your car door.
------
Option 1 and 2 are for the well meaning and generally solid citizen
Newly added Appalachian options would be
Option 3 - drive your car to the end of the block, turn around and then drive back toward the crowd , driving up onto the sidewalk while accelerating. You'll get another rock thrown at your car but the satisfaction of seeing those punks duck and run, all the while calling you a motherfucker is worth it. Bonus points because you're girlfriend has a secret admiration for you that most of the time you're cool but you will go crazy on someone ass if the situation calls for it. Regardless what she thinks, that look she would give you is 100X better than getting your ass beat to prove your a man and she'll either be too scared of you or think you're such a badass to not to drop the panties when you get home.
Option 4 - call the police, tell them a crowd on corner X just beat up a white protestant kid and were screaming "kill a cop" while flashing guns. Tell them you drove away fearing your life. Someone will get arrested, beat or shot before the night is over. Fuck you rock throwers.
What kills me is that people rail on the budget and its problems, but you can't even begin to fix our fiscal situation by gutting MediCare or MedicAid. It's political (and political party) suicide.

dumb hick tries to defend to Anderson Cooper pastor's stance of putting gays behind electric fences so they will "die off"
Nothing better than giving that ilk enough rope and watching them choke themselves on their own ignorance.

Well, I guess you think we should lie and tell them that we can fix the budget without fixing Medicare and Medicaid...

No. Your guess is wrong.
The issue is not that people should not know that it's a problem. The issue is that no one has come up with any real solution that will move in Congress. Until people get real with that, it's just pols talking so they can score points with their specific constituency.

the lesson here is, don't be Vietnamese in Houston:
Honor student placed in jail for tardiness and truancy at school
HOUSTON-A judge threw a 17-year-old 11th grade honor student from Willis High School in jail after she missed school again. Judge Lanny Moriarty said last month Diane Tran was in his Justice of the Peace court for truancy and he warned her then to stop missing school. But she recently missed classes again so Wednesday he issued a summons and had her arrested in open court when she appeared. Tran said she works a full-time job, a part-time job and takes advanced placement and dual credit college level courses.

We need death panels.
It costs too much money to keep old people alive.

You'll think that for awhile. Until you get old.

I fully expect corporations to begin knocking off retirees in the interest of minimizing the damage their pension liabilities are doing to their financial statements. They have the money and access to now lobby for the authoritative bodies to look the other way.

We can't save everyone, and our health care expenditures should focus on preventive care for the young rather than keeping old people alive at any cost.
I am 50, and both of my parents are in their 70s.

So what you are saying is that you think we should turn our back on the people who built this country back up from the great depression. Like my mom who was born in 39, her father sold newspapers on a street corner at 15 helping to support his family. She 72 now and Fighting Parkinsons for the past 22 years and stage 4 breast cancer that we just found out about. Thin the heard huh?
