"I mean sure, what the fuck can Disney do? Pack up and leave Florida? HA!"

Imagine the perks Georgia would give Disney to move there...

Does Georgia have 40 square miles of undeveloped swamp land ANYWHERE IN THE ENTIRE FUCKING STATE that 6 Disney holding companies can buy (well steal really) from locals at pennies on the dollar? Unlikely.

You have never been to Georgia outside of the Atlanta metro area, and it shows.

It's all bluster between the two sides. I remember when the Southern Baptists told everybody to boycott back in the 90's. Problem is most Southern women, the vast majority of Southern Baptist constituency, still love the place. Disney ain't going to be hurt.

I can't believe these people are still hanging on for dear life to this pandemic. Everyone hates them now.

Hell, bring that stupid shit to NC, it's an easier drive for pretty much anyone. Or level South of the Border and add land on the NC side and have it there...

"Forcing those who have done everything right except had the bad luck to be sick or old to assume the risk of contracting a potentially fatal illness"

"This decision is particularly disastrous for older adults, the ill and the immunocompromised, who still face a much higher chance of being hospitalized or even dying if they contract Covid-19 (so do the voluntarily unvaccinated, but they've made the decision to assume that risk for themselves). For most people, going to work or the grocery store is not optional, and many people need to take public transport to get there. Forcing those who have done everything right except had the bad luck to be sick or old to assume the risk of contracting a potentially fatal illness, just so that people who find masks uncomfortable -- myself among them -- don't have to take basic precautions, is an appalling level of disregard for the lives and well-being of our fellow human beings. "

At the moment, the most prevalent variation of Covid-19 is on par with the flu, maybe even less deadly. If you are immunocompromised you face a much greater risk with alot of stuff.

This person is at a stage where they'll never want mask wearing to stop. Now that its been injected into our society, they'll fight for it as long as they can.

Disney had to buy all that land in secret in Florida just to be able to build.

Even if it was something they wanted to do, they bankrupt themselves trying.

In the long run its just easier to piss off all the people who feel the need to identify as someone who feels the need to identify as something to get attention and let this blow over in 2 years.

always a good business move to have a business that profits almost entirely from families that have children and come out in support of couples that cannot have them

The biggest enemy to Disney theme parks is demographics. There are just not as many kids anymore. Sure you will still have those weirdo adults who still like to go, but they will have to think of ways to draw the adults or shut down for parts of the year like other parks.

They should take one of the four parks and make it adult friendly by having more restaurant/bar choices, casino, accommodations right in the park itself, open 24 hours.

...add a huge convention center. Like a Vegas alternative. Epcot could be transformed into this, It's outdated anyway.

I'm on a roll, get Walt on the phone.

they could create new rides like "World War II In Color" sponsored by New Balance shoes,

they could update their Model T ride to 1970 Barracudas.

Disney already has been doing this. Not to mention basically owning the concept of "sports" at this point, but they've been at the forefront of the emergence of selling to "nerds with money." They may have purchased Pixar for traditional reasons, but they are also all in on Marvel and Star Wars. The biggest deal in the whole fuckin resort when I went in early 2020 was getting up early to stand in a huge crowd at the entrance to Hollywood Studios to get a spot on the Star Wars ride for that day.

also, it looks like in the past couple of days Jack Dorsey has been going after the board of twitter as well.

He says they are dysfunctional and implies they have ruined a great company.

Just so we are all on the same page. This was a bill in the state of Florida that empowers parents and gives them the right to decide how their children will be taught in their school district. DeSantis signed this bill into Law. Done. So now, parents have authority and power to challenge the school board and their decisions.

https://www.myfloridahouse.gov/Sections ... llId=76545
The LAW wrote:Parental Rights in Education: Requires district school boards to adopt procedures that comport with certain provisions of law for notifying student's parent of specified information; requires such procedures to reinforce fundamental right of parents to make decisions regarding upbringing & control of their children; prohibits school district from adopting procedures or student support forms that prohibit school district personnel from notifying parent about specified information or that encourage student to withhold from parent such information; prohibits school district personnel from discouraging or prohibiting parental notification & involvement in critical decisions affecting student's mental, emotional, or physical well-being; prohibits classroom discussion about sexual orientation or gender identity in certain grade levels; requires school districts to notify parents of healthcare services; authorizes parent to bring action against school district to obtain declaratory judgment; provides for additional award of injunctive relief, damages, & reasonable attorney fees & court costs to certain parents.
For the LBTGQQXYZ community, this kind of law in primary and secondary education is a complete and total non-starter. That is because the LBTGQQXYZ community do NOT want the parents of the children to have the authority to push back on school districts when they teach children that they can be whatever gender they want. Moreover, there are actual FINANCIAL DAMAGES that a school district must award parents if they take actions that would in anyway empower the LBTGQQXYZ community without first notifying the parents and getting their approval. This is a fucking disaster for the #Woke left and anything they can do to stop it, they will.

Getting Disney on their side was a big help. Problem is, Disney has a lot to lose by bitching about this law. So we shall see what happens.
