At any rate, reports are Jimbo Fisher and Bob Stoops have both indicated they have no interest in the UT job. Talk about few choices...
Meh. Denials are often just a negotiation tactic.

Mark Stoops, FSU DC... sounds like a good hire for the roundballers.

Dr. Jerry Punch of ESPN told Hyams on the air that he believes the UT hire has been made. Hyams pressed him for more info but that's all Punch would say.

What?! Hyams with his "insider" info doesn't know already?! Shocked! SHOCKED I TELL YA!!
In all seriousness, the popular rumor around here is Gruden has been hired with an announcement to come this Friday. Perhaps all that talk about the Eagles and the Chargers is smoke? We shall see...

Mike Price is available, how would having a former Bammer Coach sit in Kville?

It's still Butch Jones. As long as you meet his price. He already turned down UK. The guy he replaced seems to be doing alright as is the coach before them.

Since he was never able to beat UT, he might be welcomed.

As it should be.
I hear the Browns owner is now giving Gruden a stake in his team if he coaches the Vols.
Good stuff!!!

I heard Gruden on Mike & Mike in the Morning flatly deny that he had a contract in hand with the Vols at all. He stated that he had no interest in coaching and that he was only interested in keeping his job on MNF.
He could be pulling a Saban, but I doubt it.

Maybe UT should hire Saban...

I heard Gruden this morning as well. DDAL is right, he is not coming here. If Gruden does come here, look for there to be an announcement by Friday at the latest, IMO. If nothing is announced in regards to him by Friday, he isn't coming. There is no reason why he can't be announced now. It's not like he is coaching now or anything.
Signs indicate Hart is going to do a second round of interviews next week. Sounds like he has some candidates. You've got to think Butch Jones is high on the list now.
Quite frankly though, I'm thinking Chaney will be head coach next season.
What a mess we are in.

And it appears more and more likely with each passing moment Jon Gruden will not be our next coach. Here is the lead in to a story on Volquest:
"Grusteria" finally took a twist seemingly toward resolution Wednesday with word that both the University of Tennessee and Jon Gruden couldn't find enough common ground to formally meet and discuss the Vols' head football coaching vacancy.
I'm not shocked or upset. I quite frankly never thought he was going to come here. He had several opportunities to come here and turned them all down. He was now going to come here all of a sudden? I wasn't buying it.
In other news...
I hope the players will enjoy saying, "Hello Coach Kirby Smart." I wonder if he will keep Chaney?
Hey AA,
hello

Well, I guess that makes it unanimous then...

Duke and NCarolina maybe comming to the SEC?!
If Cutcliffe wants back into the league, all he has to do is coach at UT. No sense in picking up an entire team and bringing them with him...
