Rat,

The ONLY reason why that nonsense #BelieveAllWomen was created by feminists, was to give women a trump card that they may invoke (at-will) to delegitimize and denigrate any man that they don't like in order to deprive him of power and/or authority. We don't generally send 51 year old men to jail for an attempted rape that happened 33 years earlier, especially when he denies it and there is NO ONE ELSE who bares witness. In fact, I don't think that has ever happened. BUT, feminists CAN get the power of public opinion against someone for something that may never have happened with #BelieveAllWomen.

It would be so much better if you were honest and said that although you may not believe Dr Ford's allegations, you wanted the Senate to believe her when they voted on Kavanaugh for the same reason why you wanted the Senate to believe an entirely unbelievable, Anita Hill.

It's more the manner in which Mitch stole a rightful pick from Obama and then rammed Kavanaugh thru under far more egregious circumstances. I'm sure if the script had been flipped I'd be more sanguine about it, but even if you're happy with Trump's picks, you have to admit it was shady as hell the way he got them. If you're honest about it, I mean, which I certainly don't expect from the likes of you...

yea, but you're forgetting a big part of it. they felt they had the presidency locked up with the 93% polling of Hillary so they were complacent in not allowing Obama to do it because they were like "so what we'll let Hillary choose"

Last night, I dropped off a Turo car at the airport for a family that flew in for the week and took the bus home. As I went into my wallet for the $2 fare, the homeless woman in front of me got into some song and dance about Western Union and not having the $2, she only had a dollar. Fortunately for all of us, the machine to take the fares wasn't working so she (and I) got a free ride. As I sat down, I just gave her my $2 and now she had $3.

I decided to sit across from her and listen to her story. I encouraged her to let her know that if she wanted a job, she couldn't find a better time to get one. In-N-Out is desperate, paying kids $17.50 an hour to flip burgers. Multiply that by every restaurant in Phoenix and you can all see where we are at. She seemed enthusiastic when I said that. Then reality hit. She told me that the Queen of England is her aunt and she is on some discovery, roaming the planet, living (for free) at airports. She is just waiting to be "discovered" and then she will star in movies. There will be no job for her as even if it is offered, she will not show up to work. And even if she did show up, she will not stay for the whole shift and you can't ask her to actually.... do anything. In any event, it occurred to me that the difference in wealth the two of us have, its essentially infinite. Its limitless. I might earn more in week than she will ever earn (W-2) in her lifetime. She needs at least 30 years of education and mental health to get back to "0" from a functional standpoint and I'm not sure she has that many years left on this planet. So that brings me to this article:

Tax the Rich or Pitchforks?

I have never had a problem with taxing wealthy people, taxing their income. As Jefferson said, taxes are the price you pay to live in a civilized society. But these wealthy people seem to think that their wealth needs to be confiscated (in life) for the betterment of society. My concern here is NOT that it creates a natural disincentive to save wealth. It is instead, that I don't think that government (any government) is best suited to help these helpless people so that they don't go and get pitchforks in which to stab us all. It is not a limitless, infinite difference in overall wealth that is the problem. The problem is that in the first world, the difference between competent, mentally healthy, functional, responsible, non-addicted, and non-criminal, is soooooooo vast between those who are incompetent, mentally defective, dysfunctional, irresponsible, addicted, and criminal. The latter, all government can do is just give them the money that they take from us, and these pitiful people will smoke it, shoot it in their arms, or drink it. No real help will be given as government has no real authority to help them, not anymore. Adam, with only God telling him what to do and no "government" giving him anything, he had a better chance at life of taking care of himself, taking care of Eve and their possible 33 children, than the niece of the Queen of England who sat across from me on the bus last night.

I wish I could sit down with the truly wealthy people and explain this to them. I would ask them if any of them have ever volunteered their time in a soup kitchen. I have. I have seen the other end of the spectrum. I don't think these truly wealthy people understand the real problem here. Yes, the wealth gap is infinite. But you are never going to fill that gap no matter how many taxes you take from me (or yourself.) Its not going to happen.

That's true. You'll never experience the kind of freedom she has...

I'd say that's plenty of help...

That's true hedge.

Ours is an outstanding nation in which the world's destitute, may "freely" live. I do not have her "freedom." The life I live, it costs me plenty. That said, it's just damn near impossible for an ever increasing majority of those destitute, to have what they see OTHERS (others living so close to them) have. Whether or not that motivates them to pick up a pitchfork with which to stab the both of us, that question remains unanswered. Maybe they will just riot in the streets, loot a Nike store, and burn a CVS or Starbucks to the ground like so many others have done?

Well, what happened on the bus actually happened. How was I supposed to know that on the corner of 44th Street and Washington in Phoenix, I would come face to face with Lady Sarah Frances Elizabeth Chatto? And how was I supposed to know that Sarah Frances was black?

Taxes are the price we pay for a civilized society…that’s Oliver Wendell Holmes, not Thomas Jefferson…

The dems haven't lost yet and are already saying the elections are rigged
and you thought your guy was better than that - what do you do with a president that plants the seed that elections aren't legitimate? Oh yea, you impeach him and throw his ass in jail, right?

Both sides do it. Hillary in 2016, Stacey Abrams in 2018, Trump 2020, Dems in 2022.
