Lines and hookers in the clubhouse, 1 or 2 guys in jail on any given night, but they will have the highest morale in baseball and they'll have fun winning.
Is Bobby Bo still cashing in his checks?
Oh yeah, will be for some time.

There are a lot of players out there who have contracts like Bonilla's deal.

Maybe five years out, but 35 years after retirement?

Yes. It doesn't happen every day, but it's not odd.

Rat mentioned Madoff. That's key. The Wilpons thought they were going to be making 10-12% on their investments and not lose the principal. The Wilpons didn't "lose" with Madoff given their long term investments and the money they received, but they lost the principal and a key component of their financial planning for the franchise. The money for the deferred comp was placed in Madoff's fund, and the Mets did this with several players. The Wilpons were caught up in some other ponzi scheme too. Here is the wiki article: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fred_Wilp ... nt_scandal

Here is a sampling of some of the deferred comp contracts:https://betsology.com/2019/07/bobby-bon ... b-history/

I remember there being a much more detailed and numerous list, but I am too lazy to find said article.

RIP Joe

Was Joe the best player on the BRM? Rose was the most famous and is certainly an alltime great - but Joe and Bench were probably better players.

Joe Morgan was the best player in the majors from 1972 through 1976 and possibly would have won 4+ NL MVP awards in today's day of analytic statistics (ironically).
