The lawyer works the angle!

Kidding aside, most insurances won't raise you for a single red light ticket. Speeding, especially at a "reckless" level? Probably. DUI? Definitely. One camera-caught red light? Nah.

True (at least in NC), but what about the next ticket? Why not stay ahead of the game?

so what is the price of an education in law these days?

likely same as getting your MD

your 500,000 dollars in debt before you cash that first check

DooKSucks wrote:What about the increase in insurance? Did you factor that into the equation?
Auto insurance companies audit their customer's driving record on average every 2 1/2 years (states charge insurance companies for DMV info and it adds up). A speeding violation stays on your MVR 3 years. Chances are your insurer will never know you had a violation at all, or even an accident for that matter (unless of course they paid a claim on it). The exception would be DUI/reckless driving/school zone violations - most states require their DMV to notify the miscreant's insurance company in extreme cases.

If any of youse drive like a granny, tell your insurance company you want one of their tracking devices. You can save up to 30-35% a year. fyi
