I don't know. I won't be getting a new car for a couple years. But, probably a cheaper one. I don't like the idea of spending a lot of money on cars.

Agreed. I don't imagine ever buying a new car again.

The wife is interested in the Tesla. I may want to wait a few years for some kinks to get out of engineering before I buy.

The Tesla dealership (or whatever you call them) in Charlotte is a large former Mercury dealership lot. They have 3 cars there to test drive and then you order. It's just funny looking at these 3 cars siting in a huge vacant lot.

eCat's a MOD! now you neeed a military parker, chrome it up a bit more,a long flag stick on the back with a phony foxtail hanging from it--and stay away from Rockers ( I have photos!)

used to be just between harley riders and over the years its expanded into japanese cruisers and then to japanese tourings and sport bikes

but if you are riding a scooter - even one capable of going 110mph , you don't get the wave.

You aren't a real man. You're an Italian villager wearing a beret going to the park to earn money as a mime.

this is the motorcycle you buy when you finally admit you would rather carry groceries than a woman in a tube top

Honda Silverwing - 600C, automatic CVT transmission, top speed - faster than I'll ever ride it.
My cousin bought his wife one of those. Same color too.

wow

I read that in 10 years electric cars will be cheaper than gas.

That will be the start of civil war in the middle east

I'm surprised you didn't get one of those motorcycles with 2 wheels in the front...

29 mpg doesn't seem that great, esp. for a hybrid. Hell, my grand marquis (12 years old) gets 22 mpg with mostly highway driving...

Assuming what oil price? Or do you just mean that the actual car will be cheaper to produce?

just assuming the start of massive drops in the consumption of oil/gas - not immediate but the beginning

Exactly. The Saudis are doing their best to choke out Western oil production and also stave off electric car production. The China growth situation doesn't hurt, but I'm convinced Saudi (moreso than OPEC) has done research at what average oil price a consumer looks at substitute goods because pump prices are becoming prohibitive.

yeah I though 29 kinda sucked too--its all city driving--granted there is only 200 miles on the car now so who knows

29 city is probably 10 - 15 mpg over the average of a 6 cylinder sedan in the same conditions. That's not bad.

I'm not sure OPEC is acting in unison at this point.
