Yes, you have made this statement before. And I keep pointing out to you that if Zimmerman first assaulted Martin, he doesn't get the stand your ground defense and he may not then use deadly force. So it does absolutely matter.

Didn't read the article. I saw it on CNN (during my haircut) today and the statement was that it was a policeman.

I don't know what happened. It seems likely to me that there isn't a ton of evidence one way or the other. I would not be surprised to see Zimmerman found not guilty.

If that happens, I think some areas in Florida (and maybe other states) could be a powderkeg.

I could care less about Stand Your Ground. If a person is pounding your head off the concrete, then it isn't about stand your ground. Zimmerman couldn't retreat with Trayvon Martin on top of him, nor apparently could he elude Martin if he tried, therefore he is in self defense mode. He chose to use deadly force to stop Martin.

You don't get off for using deadly force if you initiate the fight.

thats not what Derschowitz says. I'd also say that guy with a gun in his pocket isn't going to initiate a shoving match. I believe Zimmerman initiated the confrontation verbally, which is what a guy with a gun in his pocket is prone to do. and Martin took it to the next level, which is what a teenager who thinks he can kick the guys ass not knowing he doesn't have a gun is prone to do.
