Math, data, and science said (back in 1982) that gay men were highly promiscuous and gay men (and ONLY gay men) were spreading that filth known as AIDS because they kept swapping up on partners. Reagan could not have counted on enough people to vote for him in 1984 if he told the gay elite, stop swapping up on partners you disease spreading, heathens.

So Dr C Everett Coop listened to his boss and said the way to prevent the spread of AIDS (barring abstinence) is for EVERYONE to wear a condom. He never said "stop swapping up on partners." Instead he said ALL OF US could and would spread AIDS if we didn't start wearing condoms. (That was bullshit, but he got orders from on high.)

Fauci is in a position of public policy. He is making "scientific" statements based on what would help Biden get re-elected. Public policy is quite often at odds with science.

Gotta love the smile and her demeanor and presence. i don't agree with her ideology, but she is definitely an engaging candidate.

• woke is saying that women are always to be believed in a matter of he-said/she-said
• woke is saying that women only have rights, and no responsibilities
• woke is saying men (specifically white men) only have responsibilities, and no rights
• woke is never holding arsonists and thieves to account for their crimes while their riot
• woke is the DA in Wisconsin saying that it was only a firey dumpster that the victims of Rittenhouse pushed towards the cops
• woke is dignifying the concept of cultural appropriation
• woke is believing that my federal income tax dollars should be used to pay off your student loans that you took out for that gender studies degree

Considering that Fauci was one of the key immunologists/scientists who helped get the AIDS epidemic under control... Oh well, forget it. I guess you're happy to have IB (and the "literally millions" of others like him (I would say LOL if it wasn't all so pathetic)) on your side when it comes to Fauci's "view" of science. Good luck with that. You're gonna need it. But somehow I'm guessing you really don't give a shit. Bottom line is, Fauci is an actual, bona fide scientist. You're not. Dems can do alot of good with their platform if they'd just create a platform in inclusion. They want you to think they are the party of inclusion but thats really not the case.

Their focus is on developing programs and benefits for selected groups - and that never plays well because there is always someone left out. Honestly, I'm surprised that latinos aren't more outraged at how they take a backseat to the African American agenda with the Democratic party when they are clearly the future and voting strength of that party.

The ability for medicare to negotiate with big pharma to reduce health care costs - great - EVERYONE benefits from that, lives are better because of it. I'm at a loss as to why the Democratic party can't embrace approaches like this and build a platform focusing on everyone making gains.

Actually no. One of my best friend's father was an immunologist at UAB, very well-respected guy in his field (I'm sure AA knows who he is and may know him personally), he told me he's known Fauci for decades and has worked with him on things over the years, he said he's a good guy and knows what he's doing. I trust my friend's dad way more than, well, than anybody, when it comes to making judgements about Fauci. Certainly more than Newsweek or any other news outlet. That's not to say he's done everything right, this is kinda an unprecedented situation, but the suggestion that he's some sort of evil puppet master with an agenda other than doing what he thinks is best for public health in this country is idiotic...
