Re: Tennessee Volunteers
The morning after...
It appears we are now officially the worst team in the SEC. Blame the defense. Blame Sal. Blame Dooley. Blame evil voodoo magic. it's a moot a point. We are flat out horrible.
It will be interesting to see what happens at the end of the season in regards to coaches being fired.

Speaking of coaches being fired...
Kiffin lost yesterday too. Darn.
Here is a feel good story to read about his job security.
It's hard to believe Kiffin will last at USC
Fuck you Kiffin!!!

Re: Tennessee Volunteers
I was sitting here looking at the stats. First off, the defense gave up 442 yards. They allowed more yardage than our offense gained, which was 303. I'm shocked. Shocked I tell ya.
Furthermore, Worley did a LOT better than Bray in his brief stint. Bray was only 11 of 29 passing. That's not even 50% for the slow sheep amongst us (::cough::Rat::cough::). Worley was 8 of 11. During his short stint, Worley looked sharp for the most part, even with the INT he got.
I'm beginning to think Bray has a bit of an attitude problem which Dooley is picking up on. You don't sit someone who is [supposedly] as good as Bray without a reason.

By the way. I wouldn't let Bray play during the KY game. Regardless of what does or does not happen to Dooley.

Scheduled news conference @ 2pm. Dooley is out and won't be on the sidelines for KY.

It is now official meaning it is on the UT website. Dooley is no longer the coach. It appears we do not have a replacement yet.

I think Tom O'Brien would be a great coach in Knoxville.
U*NC is the cleanest most honest athletic program on the planet. I am jealous of their deserved success, and I'm a mewling cunt.

Re: Tennessee Volunteers
I feel a bit sorry for the guy. I must say I feel as if he never really had much of a chance with the circumstances he had. If Wilcox hadn't left, I'm confident we would've had a winning season and going to a bowl game. Instead, he is gone. It does appear though it wasn't meant for him to be here and feel it is best he is gone. I hope the best for him.
Reading up on the story, I didn't realize he had four seasons left on his contract. When Hamilton hired him, he really looked at him for the long term.
I watched the most of the Derek Dooley show this morning. You could really tell everyone was upset. They had the secondary coach on the show for a segment. He is a really young guy. You could tell he knows he will not be back next year. As shitty as that unit has played, I'm not shocked.
I look forward to seeing who the new coach will be. It's obvious they haven't found one yet. The way I feel about it, they might as well bring Fulmer back. Hell, will Gule get his wish as Johnny comes marching home? Whoever they get, at least the team will have some talent on it, assuming everyone doesn't leave. Who the hell can leave is beyond me as no NFL team will take any of them unless they need practice dummies. Although CPatterson has a bit of a chance I suppose. At any rate, at least whoever replaces Dooley will have a bit of a chance.
Good luck to Dooley. He was a good guy who we will never know if he was a good coach or not.

Re: Tennessee Volunteers
Back to the drawing board.
We are going to hear names like Cutcliffe, Strong, and Mullen. And while they are good candidates, we need someone one who is young, and not scared to stare down Saban, Miles, Muschamp, etc, in the face. My list would be Josh McDaniels from the NE Patriots, DC Perry Fewell of the NY Giants, and if by some miracle, steal Mike Bobo from UGA. I don't know about their recruiting skills, but at least these men coach with balls.
We missed the boat on Greg Schiano - throughout his career he has proven to take undertalented teams and turn them into winners - just look at the Bucs. These type coaches are gold....are there anymore Harbuagh brothers or Ryan brothers?
Sigh.

OF, Bray and Hunter are gone. CP will stay but only if he can get his grades up, so that's 50/50.

Re: Tennessee Volunteers
Your old pal Trooper Taylor will soon be available. He's one of the best recruiters in the business but a perfectly dreadful position coach. Under his tutelage, all our 4 and 5 star WR's couldn't catch a cold.
Tennessee, Auburn, and Arkansas (as well as Kentucky) will all be looking for coaches by the end of the week. It'll be interesting to see who lands where. Assuming our idiotic athletic director really does fire Chizik (which is still something of an if), we're supposedly looking at Petrino, Malzahn, Strong and Fisher.

Judging from the message boards, half the Auburn fan base desperately wants Petrino while the other half despises him.

Good analysis of Dooley's coaching career at UT. Pretty spot on.

The article didn't mention Dooley's showering lessons.
