I don't know what Updyke got, but I hope it was the death penalty.
According to Finebaum in his upcoming book, he visited Updyke in jail. Sounds like Harvey considers himself a celebrity, not dead man walking:
Finebaum said he was granted a meeting with Updyke at the Lee County Detention Facility on June 9, 2013, the day before his release. The meeting was granted on the condition that he not divulge any part of it until his book came out.

“His flip-flops made a small squeaking noise on the floor, and on the chest-high pocket of his county-issued orange jumpsuit he wore an unauthorized message over his heart. ‘Roll Damn Tide,’ it said, scrawled unevenly in black ink,” Finebaum wrote as he described first laying eyes on Updyke in jail.

The book discloses several details about the meeting, such as Updyke having a dog named after Alabama coach Nick Saban and him claiming to be a celebrity at the jail, signing autographs in jail for an unusual fee: Little Debbie Honey Buns.

“He just couldn’t shut up about his celebrity and I thought nothing was really accomplished here,” Finebaum said Thursday.

Yes, Jags has been a little busy of late. Hope everyone's summer went well. Aside from working far too many hours, I did go see Mom in late June. Yep, I'm still blessed.

You didn't ask him which one, the one that was shot down or the one that was raptured up?
