Just look around at the people around you, or hell even at yourself for most of us. Its clear that few in this country give a flying fuck about doing every single thing their doctor tells them they need to do to be healthy, because at the end of they day its your life, not your fucking doctor’s life, and sometimes things are more important than spending your life jogging or cooking or whatever. But when it comes to public policy, people are like collectively giving health specialists the whips and chains and saying “please, sir, force us (but especially those other people!) to do whatever you think is best, public health is the only thing that matters!”

Youre still comparing only health with health. Life is more than that. We’re letting health experts make decisions based on only health that impact business, leisure, education, justice, emotional well-being and these health experts actually know fuck-all about those things and how they are impacted by their decisions. Thats my point. And those who are well off and well connected just get to ignore it all.

President Biden’s approval ratings in Iowa are taking a hit, with less than a third of residents in the traditional heartland swing state giving the president a thumbs up on the job he’s doing in the White House.

Biden’s approval rating stands at 31%, with disapproval at 62%, according to a Des Moines Register/Mediacom Iowa poll, which was released on Tuesday.

That’s a significant drop from June, the previous time the question was asked, when the president stood at 43%-52% approval/disapproval. The last time Biden’s approval ratings were above water in Des Moines Register/Mediacom polling in Iowa was in March, early in his presidency, when he stood at 47%-44%.

The president’s overall approval in the new poll is lower than Trump’s worst showing in the Iowa survey, which was 35% approval in December of 2017.
