So what's the issue? That he's not putting in the scrubs?

Me? No. Braves.

There is no crying in baseball. Whatever happens, happens. If a team is left out of the playoff because of what Madden did, I just don’t care. They had 160 games before this to get in. If the Cubs play like it’s the WS or put in some single-A farm kids and mail it in or something in between, It shouldn’t matter.

Hedge,

I can read the article to you, but I can’t make you understand it.

It's bullshit that a team butthurt because they have just lost 9 straight and choked away their playoff chances can determine the outcome of a race by tanking. That's not baseball. That's being a sore loser.

Your Braves wanted to sit Aaron when he was at 713 until they played home games and the Reds wanted to sit Rose when he was at 4190 for the same reason. Baseball said no. Same thing should happen here. FYI, Aaron tied Ruth in Cincinnati and Ross tied Cobb in Chicago.

I am for letting the clubs decide rosters. And we coulda bunted Aaron with league interference. It just didn’t matter that much.

I remember watching 714 and thinking “that record won’t be broken in my lifetime.”

Like Berra said, “Hindsight is 50/50.”

I read the article, but I can't figure out what the gripe is. That he's playing scrubs or that he's playing his good players even though they don't have a chance to make the playoffs? At any rate, I agree with AA, they can play whoever they want for whatever reason they want. Anybody on the team should be able to get the job done, if there are people on the team who, if the manager decides to play them and the general reaction is, "what the hell is he doing, there's no way in hell they can possibly win with those guys in the game," then those guys shouldn't even be on the team, or any team. My main question is, why is Rat pissed?

Because a team not in the playoffs is having a negative effect on a tight playoff race with one game separating them with 3 to play by putting a subpar lineup on the field. You put your best 9 out there every game. It's not right but I guess I'm a baseball purist. Who's your favorite team hedge or do you even have one. Just wondering because I know North Carolina is a hotbed for the MLB.

Favorite team? Um, no. Baseball sucks. Worse than soccer...

That's what I figured. You have no idea about baseball except when you shove one up your ass for sexual pleasure.

Hedge, you don't understand baseball or the unwritten rules, etc. I get it. You grew up far from any major league city. The biggest competition in your town was probably who grew the biggest pumpkin and the biggest celebrity that came from your town was one of those hotties that popped up in the background behind the hay bales on Hee Haw. There are unwritten rules in baseball that have been around longer than your Grandpas last hard on. Stick to college basketball. Something you at least understand a little.

Unwritten rules and the generations of boot-lickers and meatheads who got angry about them, should be hustled out to pasture and put down for the good of a future where we can forget them and the curmudgeon assholes who came up with them in the first place.

Ed Zachary. Those lame ass bullshit "unwritten rules" (and the types of fans, like Rat, who cite them) are just another reason baseball sucks...

Bullshit. Baseball is a game founded and followed by time and the unwritten rules that follow. Not my fault that morons like aTm who think they know baseball never grew up with Hank Aaron, Pete Rose, Roberto Clemente, Tom Seaver, Nolan Ryan, Johnny Bench, Willie Stargell, George Brett, Paul Molitor, Joe Morgan, Reggie Jackson, Mike Schmidt, Steve Carlton, Catfish Hunter, Jim Palmer, Rod Carew (a jew) etc. You fucking youngsters know nothing about the history of baseball. You don't have the attention span. No wonder the greatest sport in America is dying. Faggot kids today would rather watch soccer or play candy crush on their phones. I'm so glad I grew up in the 70-80s. Without a phone glued to my ass. I actually threw rocks in a creek when I was bored. Rode my bike miles just to play in a backyard baseball/ football game. We never played soccer. We all thought it was for homos. Still is. I feel sad for today's generation, including my girls. Life for them is gonna suck. Our fault. But it sure the fuck was fun.
