I don't know, I think it's kinda touching that he'd gather his fambly around for a final farewell. There are worse ways to go out than surrounded by friends and famb...
You know, I agree with that. Imagine dying young with no warning, like in a car accident or something, and you don't get to say goodbye to the people you love (and vice versa). To me, that seems even sadder. Joe's lived a long, fulfilled life and he (reportedly) gets to say goodbye to all the people he loves. The man wasn't short-changed, even if he had to leave his beloved Penn State under unsavory circumstances.

The father of friend of mine died all of a sudden (while taking care of his sick wife who lived another 20 years it turned out). While he didn't get to say goodbye and that always bothered him, it was quick. His brother had a long painful illness.
JoePa's family is fortunate in some respects that neither of the above is occurring.

But some are saying CBS got it wrong! JoePa lives!

Apparently, the family is very mad at CBS for saying he was dead before he was actually, you know, dead.

The Alabama football fan caught on a widely circulated videotape sexually assaulting an unconscious LSU football fan — who turned out to be an 18-year-old LSU student — spent Thursday night in Orleans Parish Prison, authorities said....

If Penn State wouldn't have fired him he would have lived much longer. As we all know, it was his life. Sandusky took that away. If Bon Jovi was alive today he would cry.

They obviously were relying on exit polls.

What that guy did was neither sexual nor an assault...

I was actually kidding, as Karen was obviously referring to the sadness of Paterno's impending death, not the fact that the fambly was gathered around, but obviously my type of subtle humour is lost on this crowd...

Actually, I was sad because ESPN was reporting it and not some other network.

I hope to go quietly in my sleep like my dad and not screaming in terror like his passengers.
