Biggest I ever got was 9. Small comrade to that one.
How does gator taste? Has any of you actually eaten gator meat? And if you have, please don't tell me it tastes like chicken.

Are you talking about gator or deep chicken?

I've only had shallow chicken. They often talked about how their henhouse was bigger than the one next door

Depends on how it's cooked. Had alligator sausage on my pizza today. Tasted like sausage with a very slight seafood taste.

CALLING AA! Off subect but have a question. Are you anywhere near Florence AL? Had some concrete work done on our patio and the men broke my lamp post. Can only find it at Tuscumbia Iron Works in Florence AL. Concrete company owner let me hold back $500 for cost of new post (cost with shipping is $630!) he is bitching that he can find one for less--I went to manufacturer, he went online and found one for $1000+ then said he would look in flea markets! so we said forget it we would pay the amount above the $500 (just hope he doesn't put a lein on the house as he then started arguing that he removed it as a favour, I said he agreed it was part of the job description!) I am only getting the post--lights, thank goodness, were removed beforehand. Shipping is $272.69! and 8 weeks.AA I was wondering if you lived nearby and heard of their reputation. Now concrete co. owner is pissed and won't install lamp when it arrives (what are you doing in 8 weeks eCat???? you need a vacation in CA!) My husband cant hang a picture wthout drilling 200 holes in the wall so he is useless to install it! probably would break the new one! Got to find a contractor to do it as it needs bolts drilled into the concrete. Sorry guys, I have whinged enough--so frustrated. Oh,(only) best part of this mess was the lady from Alabama telling me I had a "darlin' accent" !!!!!!! I don't bloody well have an accent!! Hugs to you all and stay safe XXX

Taste best when you cook it in a croc pot.

I am about 3 hours away from Florence (by car), Cat; I've never heard of them. Perhaps Yelp or Angie's List or whatever can give you a recommendation.

Gator is versatile. The meat has a mild flavor? Think pork tenderloin or, yes, chicken. Breaded, deep fried, and spiced up, you wouldn't know it was gator unless you were told.

thanks AA, I really don't have much choice, they are the manufacturer. The stuff on their website looks gorgeous. They do all kinds of ironwork. I loved a stair rail, shame I live in a single story home! Had the original lamp about 13 years it would have lasted a lot longer! Are you going to England/ Scotland before October? If you have any English £50 notes they are being changed and last date to change them at a bank is Oct. 1st. I have a few, hope I can find someone going there. Don't think I will before Christmas. My husband is very lucky, he gets time alone six weeks at a time! But I also get time alone from him when he goes for week long meetings. It suits us and we talk or Skype .

I am surprised that an iron lamp post can't be gotten anywhere but Florence, AL, for less (or very close) to what they can make it and ship it to California for...

They say saltwater gator is the chicken of the sea. I guess that means deep sea gator is the deep chicken of the sea...
