Dooley is done. He's over his head. But since he is a typical shitbag lawyer, he held UT up at his hire and we have made him a multi-millionaire. At least there was a little foreplay when Kiff fucked us.

I'm not quite prepared to fire him although I don't blame anyone for thinking he should be fired nor will I be suprised or upset if he is forced to leave. Taken as a whole, his decision making has been pretty good. Yeah, playing to run out the clock when we had 40 seconds left to play with our explosive offense was a jaw dropper. But that is just one decision in an entire game.

Having said that, what happened during the game yesterday wasn't his fault. Again, our offense does the job they are supposed to. Yet, our defense shows they suck the Jolly Green Giant's nut sack. If our starters with several years of experience performed like they were supposed to (I'm looking right at you Coleman...), Missouri would not have been able to come back. Our secondary and our safeties are fucking lost when its a pass play and they have to cover.

Watching the coach during the press conference, Dooley had the look of a person who talked to his boss, believes he isn't going to be fire, and therefore looks like he has dodged a bullet for the time being. I suspect he and the AD had a chat with the result being a search is now under way to replace some or all of the defensive coaching staff.

If Dooley stays, he better get things going next season. If not, I'm quite positive his contract won't be renewed.
You really are 12. Or completely blind. Unless the UT administration is highly concerned about showering performance there is no way a prideful University like UT will ever accept this years results followed up by his past 2 years. 0-6 in SEC play? For a Football school? He's done. I'm sure the hampsters are already on the wheel finding the next head coach. I have him for you.

Butch Jones. He's more of a Michigan/Ohio guy because that's been his whole life but he is your answer. Look at the past few UC coaches who used them like they are, a stepping stone.

Mark Dantonio 2003-2006
Brian Kelly 2006-2009
Butch Jones 2009-present.

He's your new coach fellas. If not, you missed your chance because he's going somewhere big.

I think some people are spreading wishful thinking and false rumours with internet sites spreading the same rumour around.

In other news...

mrSEC.com is reporting Tommy Tuberville is a candidate to replace Dooley. Might as well get Tater Tot Bowden. We are fucked. This team won't win another SEC game for the next 20 years.

If Tenny finishes with wins over Vandy and 'tucky, Dooley comes back. Lose either of those games and he's gone.

This statement was actually almost appropriate 12 months ago. The KY debacle started a discussion towards that end.

Mere words can't convey how gone this guy is.

Wasn't Peyton 2-14 from the sidelines last year?

I don't think they want to extend the losing streak to UF another 4 games.

That video is hilarious. Poor guy needs to channel his energy elsewhere. Bray is about to leave and UT is going to be starting over... Again.

Bray is about to leave UT?! To do what?! I've heard rumors that fast paced career at McDonald's is not all its cracked up to be. Just ask Rat.

The guy is a junior. He makes some dumbass decisions quite often. He is inconsistent in his decision making. One game he is throwing passes all over the place where anyone can catch it and the next he is throwing the ball to the spot where only his receiver can catch. Next game he goes back to all over the place. The only thing consistent about him is he does have a rocket for an arm and can toss a ball downfield. Give him another season and he may, emphasis on may, mature enough he will straighten up. If he leaves now, only a foolish/desperate NFL team will even look at him much less take him.

The irony is, I hear Philly suddenly has a job opening he may be interested in. I hear that position has gone to the dogs in recent years for whatever reason...

Speaking of Bray...

Why would the dumbass go to the NFL when he is being paid to win games now? Don't believe me?! Just talk to Bray and he will tell you!!! If you don't have access to Bray to talk to him, just read an article a reporter wrote after he interviewed him:

Tennessee QB: 'I'm paid to win football games'

What a fucking tool!! Yeah, this is his last year. I'm sure everyone in the NFL is lining up to take this guy with his wonderful thinking. After his bullshit, I kind of hope he does leave. May the beer bottles he has been tossing away over the years hit him on the ass on the way out!!

I quite frankly don't think either of those statements is true. The discontent is such if they could find someone to replace Dooley now, I believe they would. I also don't believe losing either game means he is gone as well.

Recall Dooley:

- For season 1, he came into a program with absolutely nothing for a team. A lot of youngsters with no experience. He had to coach them up.
- For season 2, he still had a lot of youngsters with no depth anywhere and little experience. During the season, he had to contend with injuries to some players, most noteably Hunter and Bray.
- For season 3, he lost a solid defensive coordinator (who had the defense ranked at top 27 I think prior to leaving for Washington, damn you Wilcox...). He replaced him with a defensive coordinator who in turn brought in a whole new staff. We are no longer top 27, to put it kindly. Furthermore, we lose DaRick Rogers a couple of weeks before the first game is played.

What we have now is an offense who can score against anyone backed by a defense who can be scored on by anyone.

The question that is being asked now is: is there someone out there who could've done better under the above circumstances than Dooley? If so, would he come to UT now and can we afford to pay him what he wants while buying out Dooley who still has a year on his contract? If there is someone out there who we can afford, Dooley is gone. The problem is, there is no one out there who will come here.

Some long time forum dwellers know where I live. I've mentioend a thing or two about a couple of big money types with strong connections to UT who I associate with. I am positive some people here can name at least one of those guys. I'm not claiming to have inside info, but I've heard enough to know what I am saying above is the decision process. The powers at be can't find a person who they fill would be better and willing to come here while having to pay for him and Dooley.

Forget the internet rumours (dang you Volquest): Dooley has not been fired yet. I expect he will be here after this season but that could change.

Bray is going to have a new coach his senior year. He may risk FA just to get out of there and start training for the combine and draft. We'll see, but I would not be surprised to see him leave.

He should leave. That place is a fucking mess. Worst case the Jets draft him. Less mess.
