I just heard of a third person in a week I know who is 60 and decided not to get the vaccine who is now on death's door. I don't agree with foregoing vaccination, but I respect their decision of not doing it. It's their life.
Yet you had your children vaccinated and showed proof of the same to enroll them in school….

Their school didn’t require it. We had them vaccinated by our own decision.

The Mississippi Governor made a statement Saturday that caught my attention.
Mississippi Governor Tate Reeves, in remarks Saturday, said that people in the state were "less scared" of COVID-19 because they believe in "eternal life," as new infections reach record levels and hospitalizations spike.
Reeves made the remarks to a gathering of state Republicans at a fundraiser last Thursday in Eads, reported the Daily Memphian.
"I'm often asked by some of my friends on the other side of the aisle about COVID … and why does it seem like folks in Mississippi and maybe in the Mid-South are a little less scared, shall we say," Reeves said.
"When you believe in eternal life — when you believe that living on this earth is but a blip on the screen, then you don't have to be so scared of things," he said.

Reeves went on to say, "God also tells us to take necessary precautions. And we all have opportunities and abilities to do that and we should all do that. I encourage everyone to do so."
I think that's pandering and irresponsible

"I simply cannot imagine how I'd feel if I didnt get to spend like the last Christmas, Thanksgivings, birthdays, etc with a family member because we were all too scared to live and do those things."
That's been my favorite part of the this whole thing, being able to get out of these fambly gatherings and enjoy a real holiday from all that bullshit...

"I find this is total horseshit. Based on the media attacks on GOP you'd think that Florida and Texas lead the death rates of Covid 19. They aren't even in the top 20"
I read that Florida changed their reporting criteria in order to accomplish this miracle...

all of them are coming to my house this Xmas.
I'm actually looking forward to it, I'm big on Xmas around here.
The sister-n-law said that her kids still say Xmas with us 3 years ago was the best they ever had. It helps when Uncle Ecat gives you a Squire Strat with a whammy bar as a present.

Well, oldest son is engineer with Raytheon who just finished his masters at NC State paid for by his employer. Daughter is CPA with PWC in Connecticut, but most importantly, both are in their early 20's and off my car insurance and phone plans. Whack job or not, they put this father in perfect spot to retire in two years at 55.
