I don't understand California - never will
---------------
A California house that recently went on the market for $1.55 million has a lot of perks. It’s within walking distance to a major mall, it’s spacious enough for a family, and it’s located in a safe neighborhood.
But there’s one caveat that might deter potential buyers. As recently as March, the previous owner allegedly used the home’s garage as a methamphetamine lab.
Keller Williams Realty’s listing for the San Jose house notes that the home, which is considered contaminated, still contains the inactive lab. A spokesman for Santa Clara County’s health department said in a statement that nobody can enter the house until it is decontaminated.
The home will be turned over to the buyer in its current state, Keller Williams Realty said on its website.
----------------
A biohazard clean out will fix it.
Typically the biohazard cleanout is what is required when someone finds a decomposing body in a home. That leads to a myriad of problems in the walls and ventilation. Everything must be cleaned. A similar process will purify a home that has a meth lab.
The cost is roughly $25,000.

I wish your house needed a biohazard cleanout for your decomposing body...

If I were to buy a Kraut car, the last fucking thing I would buy would be a damn X series. They’re about as bad as Range Rovers.
I’ll stick with Chevrolet products. The wife wants to get one of the suburban size Escalade ESV’s to replace her current suburban. I broke it to her that unless she suddenly shit out an extra $50k or more to make up the price difference, she can keep dreaming and enjoy the next Suburban LT she gets to replace her current one. She may make her own money, but despite having been in sales for 20 years prior to opening her decorating business, she’s a fucking sucker for a car sales gimmick. So, it’s me who does that shit because if I allowed her to do it, she would get fucked and believe every bit of their four square bullshit.
Re luxury versions of vehicles like the Escalade, Denali or even stuff like Chevy’s higher end trim models versus an LT model Suburban or Tahoe. You’re paying a shitload more for a bunch of trim and meaningless creature comfort shit that inevitably goes to shit quicker than the basic stuff on a vehicle. So, you’ll be shelling out more when the warranties end and you’ll want to get a new one quicker. Fuck that.

Or just get one that's a couple of years old and save another $20K. I paid $5500 (caaaiiiiissshhhh) for my current car, a 2010 Buick. Drives great. I've had it 2 1/2 years and will drive it until it blows up (softball there for some enterprising sassor)...

Outside of some tire rods (I think they were in the $300-400 range, eCat would've done it himself for $100) I haven't spent a dime on this thing outside oil changes and tires (again, eCat would've done that himself too, including vulcanizing the rubber, extruding the steel wires and fabricating his own tires). That's my definition of a quality car...

You are right about X series and Range Rovers. SIL was telling me she wanted on a Discovery and I told her to STFU, she was a moron for wanting one. Get a damn Land Cruiser or GX460 if you to want impress someone with your husbands money.
We bought a Toyota Highlander a few weeks ago - a used one and it was an XLE model
I love that car, I wish we had bought one years ago
We were setting aside money to buy a new one but got dang, a new one is $48K - after taxes and tags, I would have dropped $52 on that thing at least.
The first house I bought in Cincinnati was a 4/2 brick tudor for $77K. I just got sick to my stomach thinking about doing that. I still buy my clothes at Goodwill, I ain't dropping house money on a car
anyways, wife really wanted a limited model, not the XLE, but this was a good price so we snagged it. I added Apple Car Play, Remote Start, wireless phone charging, roof racks, cargo cover, led ambient lighting and some other niceties, all for less than $600. Now it has everything except a powered passenger seat and a heated steering that the limited has
I would actually love to get a government auction Grand Marquis with the cop setup , but I don't even trust FWD up here in Cinci , much less a rear wheel drive car.
The reality is we only get like maybe 5 bad snow days in Cinci and hell, I don't even have to go into work , so requiring an AWD car is stupid, but I'm just mentally hung up on it. The kids have honda FWD cars, but my wife and I both have AWD.
Saw a Grand Marquis here for $5500 and only had like 64K miles. I was watching a mechanic talk about how easy it is to work on them - the water pump is exposed in the front along with the alternator and belts. The only thing that is hard to replace (which is hard on every car) is the heater core. They have standard shocks and a fuel pump that is accessible thru the tank without having to drop it or take out a back seat. They are a mechanics dream.
Can you change these bitchass titles?

I just looked to see if it was still for sale, surprisingly it is. I was wrong though, only 54K miles.

The problem with buying used right now is that the used car market is extremely overpriced. Granted, it looks like it may be beginning to correct itself, but if I'm going to buy a car with 40-60k miles, I want a significant discount. The discounts for Suburbans/Tahoes and the like for late model used cars just isn't steep enough to give up that warranty period (and the extended warranty), imho.

I had a Grand Marquis before I got my current car. Had almost 300K on it. Hated to give it up, but my dad had the Buick with 100K on it just sitting there not getting driven, so I swapped. Gave the Mercury to my truck driver, he immediately put jacked it up and put those big ass rims on it. He's still driving it...

I hate that there is no longer a true, full size American sedan.

My dad was a Buick guy for many years until a salesman called him Chief. He went Toyota after that. The salesman was annoying as fuck & if we didn't get my dad out of there he was gonna belt him. Only time I've seen him that mad besides when I got 4 Fs in college.

Yes. Tree or somebody does it all the time. You're not changing the thread title, but the subject line of your post, like an email. Its just that in most cases every post on the whole thread is by default a reply to the original post, of which the subject line is the title of the thread.
I hit the quote button to reply directly to your post and you can see that my post subject for this post is therefore "Re: Its my butthole for christs sake" because its a reply to yours like an email.
