If you're Caucasian you have limits on what you can say or do that doesn't apply to other races.
Oh, the difficulty of being in the elite.

I doubt George Zimmerman feels very elite right now...and he only sounds white.

Point: he isn't white, he's latino according to him as pointed out by many here.

Paula Deen was HUGE with Black women, for what it's worth.
My aunts & mothers were floored by the stories. I found it funny they didn't expect it.
Not a lot of Blacks, Asians or Latinos to point to with Hollywood fame, in the first place, but when thinking about ruined careers by controversial or polItical incorrect speech, Arsenio (Farrakhan) and Isaiah Washington (Faggot) come to mind.
So, eCat, I think your memory may be selective.
Zimmerman is only Latino when it suits him. Like now. He's Martin Sheen.

My wife never liked Paula Deen, primarily because she likes to eat from the spoon and then put it back in the food.

well I don't know shit about Paula Deen. I occasionally catch Anthony Bourdain which is the extent of my TV chef knowledge.
I'm sure she made it worse by doing all these videos, but my point is that a white person of any power or celebrity in the public has to bend over backwards not to offend anyone, and that same standard doesn't apply to others. And the reaction is so over the top if they do that its absurd.
again, I don't know what she said or did other than just reading it on here, but unless she actively prevented minorities from any equality, then who gives a fuck what she said. It only defines her as a person if you want it to.

He's only latino when it suits the accusers as well. Jesse Jackson and Al Sharpton ain't holding rallies to accuse a latino man of profiling a black kid.

Actually, it's quite hard. You're in the public eye, there are certain words and terms you don't use, and that's not limited to white people, it's really true for all. Just ask Isaiah Washington.

It's not just the elite.
Two high school kids get in a mutual fistfight on private property. It was videotaped and made the Vine circuit at school. At the end of the video you see the two kids shake hands and say we're cool. During the fight, the black kid called the white a kid a cracker. The white kid called the black kid a nigger. The sheriff has decided to prosecute the white kid on the grounds of the fight being a hate crime. The black kid is not being prosecuted.

The opposite of Jena, Louisiana. Sheriffs don't decide to prosecute or not. Do you mean the prosecutor?
Where was this? Good example for my class

I stand corrected, Spacer -- Sheriff pressed charges. It's here in Lebanon, Ohio -- and it's a juvenile case.

I doubt seriously the prosecutor will follow through with a hate crime prosecution without a lot more evidence out there, a pattern, facebook etc
Then again, Ohio and Louisiana are different. In Jena, nooses and swastikas aren't crimes at all.
