"The dnc elites never wanted Biden. The dnc elite wanted someone who could answer questions in interviews and someone who could debate properly without soiling himself."

She's terrible in debates and is criticized for doofy public demeaner.

Don't be surprised if we are seeing a President Pelosi before this term is done.

That is also true, she is horrible in debate with a doofy public demeaner. So I stand corrected. Let me rephrase

The dnc elites never wanted Biden. The dnc elite wanted someone who was female, a minority (by way of skin color), could answer questions in interviews and someone who could debate properly without soiling herself.

Obviously, the only selection here (who checks all 4 boxes) was Tulsi Gabbard. That was it. But she was a non-starter the moment she attacked Kamala and others in the primary debates with such intelligence not to mention, HRC threw Gabbard under the bus. What HRC says, goes. That's it. Gabbard wasn't #woke enough. She wasn't totally an ALLY in all things that are the 21st century democrat platform. So it could not be her. So by process of elimination, that left only Kamala even though she checked only two boxes (the first two boxes.)

Yes it would not surprise me if Pelosi becomes POTUS before everything ends in this one term.

Looks like Biden showed up for work today after a session with Donald Trump's makeup artist for a quick speech, and now he's headed back to Delaware for a long weekend of R&R.

Apparently pigs do fly. Here is my ex-wife Ann Coulter taking President Biden's side on the withdrawal from Afghanistan, taking his side against everyone ELSE!

https://anncoulter.com/2021/08/18/joe-vs-the-swamp/
Ann Coulter wrote:On Monday, Biden gave the best presidential address in recent memory — a full-throated, America-First statement of our interests. “I want to remind everyone,” he began, “how we got here and what America’s interests are in Afghanistan.”

That seemed to bring some conservatives back to reality. They must have overheard themselves talking and realized, Wait, I’m against permanent war! But they had to come up with some reason to be against Biden, so they temporized, Of course we want the war to end, we’re just upset at how he did it!

Oh give it up, conservatives.

1) How smoothly did you expect the withdrawal of American troops from a country of warlords, brigands and pedophiles to go?

2) Our military brass, upstanding folks like Gen. Mark “I Want to Understand White Rage” Milley, may be incapable of creating the most minimal fighting force given $1 trillion and 20 years. On the other hand, they are fully equipped to create colossal fiascos — say, making the withdrawal as messy and embarrassing as possible, so that no one will ever try to end this war again.

But for maximum brain-deadery, nothing beats the liberal media’s incessant bleating about our moral obligation to Afghans who “risked their lives to help us!”

There seems to be some confusion about who was helping whom here. Our “Afghan allies” were not helping us. The Taliban weren’t in Iowa. We were helping them.

This is like demanding that firemen who’ve just rescued people from a burning building go back and make them dinner. These people stepped out of their windows onto a ladder, risking their lives to help YOU!
(shrugs)

Okay, yes to all this.

I think here at the ole Goat Pen, we are pretty much all in agreement that there was nothing more any US troops could do in Afghanistan. If we weren't going to get rid of the Islam, we might as well get rid of ourselves. I just think Biden did was Bush 43, Obama, and Trump didn't do (but all three said they would) because it had to end at some point. Two decades is enough. The only criticisms I have seen here are people complaining about how messy the exit has been. Sure its fucking awful. Its awful that people are dangling off the wings of airplanes, that mothers are handing their babies over fences to US citizens leaving hoping against hope that someone will take their children. But (without getting rid of Islam) no matter how this ends, its going to be awful. I don't think we can avoid that.

easy to understand why there are so many people screaming to tax the rich.

61% of Americans paid no federal income taxes in 2020. Even with a large number of retirees, that is a stunning number to me

More than 100 million U.S. households, or 61% of all taxpayers, paid no federal income taxes last year, according to a new report.

The pandemic and federal stimulus led to a huge spike in the number of Americans who either owed no federal income tax or received tax credits from the government. According to the Urban-Brookings Tax Policy Center, 107 million households owed no income taxes in 2020, up from 76 million — or 44% of all taxpayers — in 2019.

“It’s a really big number,” said Howard Gleckman, senior fellow in the Tax Policy Center. “It’s also really transitory.”

Gleckman said the main reasons for the spike — high unemployment, large stimulus checks and generous tax credit programs — will largely expire after 2022, so the share of nontaxpayers will fall again starting next year.

The share of Americans who pay zero income taxes is expected to stay high, at around 57% this year, according to the Tax Policy Center. It’s expected to fall back down to 42% in 2022 and remain at around 41% or 42% through 2025, “assuming the economy continues to rebound and several temporary tax benefits expire as scheduled,” Gleckman said.

Despite being fleeting, the high number of nontaxpayers is sure to fuel the debate in Congress over higher taxes on the wealthy. Many Democrats say the wealthy don’t pay their fair share, and cite a series of recent articles in ProPublica showing that billionaires including Jeff Bezos and Carl Icahn paid no federal income taxes in certain years. The $3.5 trillion reconciliation bill in Congress is expected to include increases in capital gains taxes, a higher top rate on ordinary income, a higher corporate tax rate and other measures aimed at those making $400,000 or more.

I'm guessing all but a few percentage points of that number are low to low middle income families.

Here is a fact:

Our deficit problem is spending and that the lower income levels don't pay enough. Go to any European country and the poor pay taxes as well. At a lower level, but they still pay a good share. If you tax incomes over $400K at 100%, you would not have enough revenue to fund the current deficit let alone the additional deficit caused by outrageous handouts the Dems are proposing right now.

You can jack off in front of your co-workers and still keep your job, but if you espouse any pro-Trump opinion you could lose your job.

LOL. "In all seriousness?" She has zero chance of ever being a presidential nominee. She is just one of, hell maybe a hundred or more, pure lunatics or morons that districts in this country keep electing the House of Representatives. The idea that because Trump was President, ergo any lunatic could be President is a fantasy. She's just a nutjob riding on Trumps coattails. Trump has a celebrity and a reputation as "that famous rich celebrity businessman" built over decades that helped give him a legitimacy and name recognition which Greene will never, ever have.

I can't verify this but I'm reading a thread on another forum and supposedly when Trump was negotiating with the Taliban for the American exit from their country, he let the Taliban leaders know that if they reneged on their agreement, he would call in airstrikes on their villages where they had family.

that is some mafia level shit there - of course nothing would prevent them from moving their family and the donkey up to the mountains for a few days but still I think it would register with them that Trump is their level of crazy.
