Monk had the best post about Cedric Cornbread Maxwell and Carolina Charlotte. I still laugh thinking about it
I miss that guy (but not enough to remember his name)

What was the gist of his post?

it was all the context , it was back when there were hundreds of us on whatever board we were on and one guy was a UNCC fan - something along the lines of the 3 best players from UNCC was Cedric Maxwell, Cornbread Maxwell and Cedric Cornbread Maxwell and it pissed the guy off

I leave for a few weeks and there’s a whole new set of memes going when I get back. I was wondering why the board felt so stale. It was me all along. I rule.

Isn't it funny (or something) that it used to be you'd just get pop-up ads for shit you were talking about on your phone and we'd be like "damn, the phone is listening to me, ha-ha," and now it's "actual" people popping up applying for jobs that are exactly connected to shit you were talking (typing, actually) about in an off- off- off- Broadway chatroom? Skynet is here, and it is us...

Start noticing: You were posting some shit about Cornbread Maxwell and then a kid comes in for an interview and the first thing on his resume is UNC-Charlotte and you're thinking to yourself "Hmmm, isn't that a coincidence?" Start noticing how often these "coincidences" are occurring. Looking at a word online or in a book or magazine and then somebody says it on the radio at that exact moment. Shit like that. I'm not sure what it means, but mark me, lads...

Duke dismantled a real basketball team. I mean I'm sure Arizona St isn't going to set the world on fire, but they aren't some DII high school gym wannabe.
Kentucky fans took notice since UK plays Duke in a couple of weeks

That Venezuelan fuck Diego Guevara blew kisses to the sky after every made three damn near led UNCC to an upset of Carolina in the 1998 tournament. That was an incredibly tight second round game that UNCC could have won in regulation. Shammond Williams may not have shown up for the Final Four's, but he showed up in that second round game. UNCC smothered Jamison, and Carter and Williams saved the team that Saturday afternoon.
