I just read the first few sentences of the story but the knock on Phillips in Dallas is he was the opposite of Parcells and as a players coach had little influence in the players which translated to generally lazy downtime habits and poor execution during the game.
He was so beat up at the end of his tenure in Dallas I can see why he'd have reservations about getting back into it.
