The plain fact is that if you're under 65 and in reasonably good health and not obese, the chances of you dying from covid are very small. If you've been vaccinated, it's almost zero, and also likely that you won't even feel sick if you do still get it. So if somebody doesn't get vaccine and dies, well, nobody cries when unvaxxed fatty dies...

79% of covid deaths in the US were people 65 or older. 92% were 55 or older. I'm guessing most of them also had other factors (overweight, smoker, diabetes, high blood pressure, etc, etc). Of course, being over 90 years old is negative factor in and of itself, but whatever. If you're under 55 and in decent health, you've got to like your chances of not dying from covid even if you get it. You can't really blame people under, say, 40, for not really being too concerned about it. And kids in their 20's or under? Forget about it...

speaking of unvaccinnated

my wife and daughter went to visit her sister and her family.

They spent the week going out to places - dinner, shows, etc

The day after my wife and daughter left the sister starts feeling sick. She got tested yesterday and its Covid

So I'm like "what vaccine did she get?" and my wife texts me to tell me she didn't get vaccinated because she suffers from vertigo. I don't even see how those two are connected, and then to go out in public and do a bunch of things with your family, knowing you aren't vaccinated is just a head scratcher to me. I wouldn't even want family to visit me.

I was reading that people that take blood pressure and statins are actually more resistant to the virus, and that is going to target people in the 40+ range - so cheeseburger eating people are protected

but your post shows why so many people aren't getting the vaccine. Its the same reason 20% of the people get the flu shot.

Agreed, so why are we asking kids to mask in school?

So, if you kneel in protest of the country, are you really representing the country? Them losing made me smile.

I saw a bunch of people celebrating their loss

I hate that it has come to Americans celebrating the loss of a team representing the USA

but they brought it on themselves.

That's OK, I celebrate when I hear that a non-vaxed Trump supporter dies, which it's looking like there's going to be a lot of celebrating for the foreseeable future. To paraphrase Trump, there's going to be so much celebrating that I'm going to get tired of celebrating...

Same. I love how people get their panties in a bunch over people kneeling but don't care about an insurrection.

I was kidding. Kinda. You have to admit, though, there was a certain symmetry: Celebrating a loss, they brought it on themselves, etc...

I will say that I shouldn't have to wear a mask because someone decided they weren't going to get the vacinne

Don't punish the people that willingly took it to support the people that are accepting the risk. And don't prioritize them in the ICU over a another non covid emergency

But wishing death is harsh. I don't think a blue hair dyke should die because she turned her back on the flag, but not reaching glory she has worked her entire life for? I'm OK with that. The only thing that could make it better is if she lost to a team full of transgender Ukranians

"But wishing death is harsh."

Life's but a walking shadow, a poor player
That struts and frets his hour upon the stage,
And then is heard no more. It is a tale
Told by an idiot, full of sound and fury,
Signifying nothing.
