Are you saying the American public is so stupid that they can't listen to facts from experts and act accordingly? That they're so stupid that propaganda is required to get them to behave like non-retards? Noooooo......

Thats not even a consideration. They cherry pick whatever stats they think will make people behave the way they want.

Science is not as clean cut as a propagandist needs it to be regardless. Experts do not agree, and experts especially do not agree at the cutting edges of scientific research.

Theres a video going around where Kary Mullis (nobel prize winning biochemist, who invented the PCR and revolutionized biology) basically calls out Fauci as a paper pusher, a liar, and someone who knew nothing about real science from several years ago. Of course the crux of their hatred for one another was about HIV/AIDS policy, and Mullis was actually generally considered to be on the wrong side of scientific “consensus” about that (that HIV was not the cause or sole cause of AIDS), so even a Fauci might be right and the genius Nobel laureate might be on the wrong side and this is everywhere. People are able (and we see it now) to choose whatever they want their scientific viewpoint to be by picking the science they believe, until such science is truly resolved and the evidence is overwhelming, which will not be the case on things that are real current issues for the most part

seems like there is a large % of the American public that isn't smart to realize Fauci is full of shit. Oddly enough its appears to be the same people that feel superior to Trump voters.

That's actually not odd at all, it's exactly what I'd expect...

There are, obviously, propagandist on both sides of most issues, we just happen to be living in a time where both sides can give an airing of their propaganda, via 24 hour cable "news" networks, to say nothing of Twitter, Facebook, etc, etc., that will be consumed by a large number of people. Unlike the days when there were only 3 networks that reported the news for a half hour every evening, or, before that, newspapers run by people like William Randolph Hearst. I guess people should ask themselves, why are these various people saying what they're saying? Obviously ratings, which translates into money, is big motivator. I'd like to think that some of these people actually believe what they're saying is true and that they really believe that reporting the truth is a good thing in itself, but maybe I'm just being naive and nobody cares about anything but enriching themselves or being part of some vast mind control conspiracy. Certainly I don't have much faith that the average American cares about much except for enriching themselves and paying as in taxes as possible...

Of course, Trump is by far the biggest, loudest propagandist that I've seen in my lifetime. My personal view is that he is full of shit and an obvious crook and low class grifter, so naturally I feel that many of the people who buy his bullshit are either feeble-minded or else deluded. Not sure which is worse. That doesn't mean (at all) that if you think Trump is full of shit that you automatically accept that shit like antifa or BLM or whatever aren't without their own bullshit too, of course they are, but nothing nor nobody has executed and sustained the total grift to the degree that Trump has, and it's not even close...

there are many people that are all in on Trump

He was a flawed person and a bad human being

but I believed in his positions and no way was I going to vote for Clinton.

I still believe in his positions. The bigger problem with many people is they can't separate their hate for Trump the person and Trump the president.

Electing Biden is proof of that. He is Trump II, only he bullshits even more. Not a single Trump hater on here has yet to acknowledge that Biden is a serial liar and is just another 70'ish year old white guy that is making sure the people around him profit. Biden just got into office. Everyone chooses to ignore the dealings he setup with his son, yet Trump is a grifter. Fauci lied to the American people over matters of life and death, but we have to "follow the science" when Trump is talking about hydro and ivermectin. The only reason Fauci gets a pass by anyone is because he was deemed as anti-Trump during the crisis. The hatred of all things Trump overrides common sense logic in many people which is why its been termed Trump Derangement Syndrome

and its hard to differentiate your position on antifa/blm when you are saying its no big deal for people to trash a Target and steal diapers

This was decided to happen by the DNC long before Biden was elected.

All politicians are propagandists. That's politics, the whole game is to get enough other assholes to agree with what you're saying to make whatever dumbass idea you've had get put into law. My point was that Fauci's job is also more about propaganda than it is about science on a fundamental level than most people would think, because that's the only way our society know to fight a pandemic..

The problem for Fauci, is that in and amongst all the "for the greater good public health misinformation (like the risk to youth, masks, shutdowns, etc) is that there is propaganda mixed in there about the origin of the virus. Allowing and making it seem that the lab leak origin was a kook conspiracy theory when in actuality it is the most likely origin. They allowed Chinese propaganda to be the "official story" not because there was a public health benefit into doing so, but because they knew that they had approved sending money to that very same facility. The propaganda on that was not about behavior and public health, it was about covering up their own asses from public outrage.

its one thing to flip flop on mask wearing, although I thought he should be held accountable.

its another to fund gain of function with the Chinese lab (and then deny it continuously) - that is like Iran Contra on steroids

WTF - seriously who supports this logic?

The serious question is, was this legal to fund such experiments? And if so, is it best not to anymore? And if not, who is accountable?

All real men who have a good understanding of Constitutional government at the federal level, should be willing to eat out my Senator's pussy if she calmly and lucidly asks you to, for no other reason other than standing by the 60 Senate vote requirement.

https://www.nationalreview.com/2021/06/ ... nd-sinema/
As Senator Sinema has observed, one benefit of the legislative filibuster is that it prevents an unstable “ricochet” effect in our most controversial public policy. But, in a continental nation such as ours, it also ensures that the federal government is able to act in the first instance only with significant buy-in and, in consequence, guarantees that the vast majority of the questions facing the people will be resolved by the states. By design, the Founders created a national government charged with doing only a handful of things. Over time, that government has grown beyond recognition — to the point at which every election has become a pitched battle and every cultural issue a national fight to the death. Those who lament this state of affairs would do well to consider how much worse things might get absent the Senate’s 60-vote threshold.
Senator Sinema wrote:To those who say that we must make a choice between the filibuster and ‘X,’ I say, this is a false choice, The reality is that when you have a system that is not working effectively . . . the way to fix that is to fix your behavior, not to eliminate the rules or change the rules, but to change the behavior.
And you better bring her to orgasm.

You're not going to change the behavior of the senate without changing the rules...
