You probably weren't alive during segregation. Lots of people wrote "segregationist bullshit" then, as it was an accepted practice.

Did you see the Daily Show clip package where Buffet was accused of being a socialist by Fox News for that op-ed? Classic.

It was an epic segment all around. It culminated in more clips of Fox News pundits complaining that raising the tax rate on the top 2% would "only" collect 700 billion in extra revenue over 10 years. Then there was another clip pack of them complaining that the bottom 51% pay no income taxes. Then a little quick math that showed those folks have 2.5% of the wealth, meaning that if you took half of everything they owned, you could get about... 700 billion dollars.

That came in a very close second in the Iowa straw poll and therefore should not be ignored by journalists (if they are truly journalists who's job it is to REPORT the news. In fact, if he's senile do a series of articles on him about his senility. Ignoring him is inappropriate.

Uh oh. I don't think Mook's Mom is going to like that (once she hears about it on Good Morning America.) Damn, you GOP folks are really going out of your way to alienate the Mook's Mom vote. Don't you have anyone palatable at all?

For some inexplicable reason, Ron Paul has a cult following on college campuses - even the somewhat liberal University of Illinois. Paul's libertarian (as opposed to Bushian) brand of conservatism apparently appeals to a lot of kids who even voted for Obama last time around.

Many candidates are judged by the standard of, "I'd like to sit down and have a beer with him." Apparently passes the "I'd like to sit down and split a joint with him" test.

Lots of Germans participated in the harassment, oppression, deportation and killing of Jews. So, should we ignore that since it was an accepted practice?

So what big deal. It's not about "what you can get" it's about everyone paying their fair share. No person should pay a higher percentage of their income in taxes than any other person. I shouldn't get away with 15% while ole Warren pays 17%. I'm not paying my fair share and he is paying more than his.

Notice ole Warren only used his income tax percentage for himself, and I'm bettin he wasn't honest about it either, but for those in his office he used their "tax burden" which includes more than just their tax rate. Nice try though Warren.

He also doesn't figgure in the corprate tax already paid on the tax rate of dividends. To be fair both rates should be added together. Whoops, that would be the true tax on dividends and would also show that the tax rate isn't nearly as low as he would make everyone believe.

If he is so concerned and really does believe that he should pay a higher percentage of his income in taxes then let him and his socialist cronies just pay 100% of their income to the gubment and leave everyone else alone.

Hey he's a big gubment kind of guy and he wants to "soak the rich" at least he claims he does. Pretty socialist to me the Marxist/socialist thingy. It's in the spectrum. "From each according to his ability to each according to their need". In other words "soak the rich".
