Is it too late to post a link?

I don't get a newspaper, I don't watch the local news unless there is a tornado outside

I have a routine where I DVR PTI and the NBC Nightly News and watch it around 7:30 every night. Thats how I know about world events that matter to me.

Also I look at reddit when I poop.

If it don't show up there...or here....I don't know about it.

what would be a more scenic drive?

Kingsport to Johnson City to Asheville to Spartanburg

or

Wythville to Winston Salem to Charlotte

Is there anything along the way of either route of particular interest to see around 5 - 7pm in the evening? I know the latter takes me close to Mt. Airy which would be a bucket list thing for me.

We're taking the long way to Savannah from Cinci.

If you're on a motorcycle I would suggest Bristol to Mountain City To Boone to Asheville to Greenville To Spartanburg.

I would suggest 75 to 40 to 26 to 95. The quicker the better. Although construction is gonna be a bitch. When are you going down?

man I am so tired of I-75. I'm in it for the journey. I'm not even getting on I-275 - I'm taking 32 all the way to West Virginia

Unfortunately I won't be on a motorcycle (my ass thanks me) - I will be renting a van to carry stuff to a work conference. My wife is going with me and we're just going to make it a 'hey the worlds largest rubber band collection, lets stop!" kind of trip.

Make sure the AC is working well. It's going to be hot as fuck down there.

going to head out Friday mid day and head to Mt. Airy thru West Virginny toward North Carolina. Unless I get hung up in traffic, we should get there around 5pm and plan on eating at the Mayberry Diner which I'm sure is a tourist trap (but rated #3 by Trip Advisor just behind House of Thai). Then head on to Savannah.

Plan on spending a couple of hours seeing Savannah before heading on to Hollywood, Fl. Staying the week there for a work conference - should be a good week for me.

I'm carrying so much work related stuff with me I rented a mini-van for the trip which for road trips is the best car you can take as far as I'm concerned.

Unfortunately at the end of the week I"m driving back up non-stop from south Florida to Cinci. God Help me on that. That's about 19 hours with stops assuming I don't get stuck in traffic...which I will...multiple times

Heading down to HHI on the 1st as well. All highway. I hate driving. I would fly and rent a car if it was feasible.

If you've never been to Savannah, you're in for a treat. I love that town. Also, if you're heading up I-95 on the way back, stop by Wilson and spend the night with us. We're going to Honduras next week but will be back on Saturday...

Just looked at the map, doesn't make much sense to drive back thru eastern NC if you're going the shortest route...
