Mueller testified in front of congress and said there wasn't enough evidence. Do you think at that point, he was worried about any repercussions from Barr at that point?hedge wrote: ↑Wed May 05, 2021 9:32 am Lying to a judge and to Congress under oath isn't a good thing, is it ?

Tuesday, federal Judge Amy Berman Jackson issued a scathing order about Attorney General Bill Barr falsifying documents to cover up why the Justice Department refused to prosecute former President Donald Trump for obstruction of the Mueller investigation.

If former Attorney General Bill Barr lied in court, then it stands to reason that his testimony to Congress was also a lie, noted Center for American Progress communications VP Jesse Lee, citing a New York Times report.
Barr was outed by federal Judge Amy Berman Jackson for lying to her, to the court, and to the American people about the process for investigating and considering whether or not President Donald Trump would be prosecuted for obstruction of justice.
"At issue is how Mr. Barr handled the end of the Mueller investigation and the release of its findings to the public," the New York Times reported Tuesday. "In March 2019, the office of the special counsel overseeing the inquiry, Robert S. Mueller III, delivered its report to the Justice Department. In a highly unusual decision, Mr. Mueller declined to make a determination about whether Mr. Trump had illegally obstructed justice."
hedge, Mueller was not the least bit concerned about Barr. And why? Because Mueller did his job and proved his points with actual convictions (tax evasion convictions and the bullshit "obstruction" they had on Gen Flynn that bankrupted him.) All of that vindicated the investigation. So Barr was happy about that. And Mueller was "sort-of" happy about that (and a little sad because Mueller couldn't get the man he REALLY hated.)

Well hedge, if we are consolidating states based on population, I'm down with with that. What about the ridiculously lowly populated democrat states? Why do we have Delaware? Lets consolidate them back into Maryland where they belong, two less democrat Senators right there. And while we are at it, combine Rhode Island with Connecticut into the new state of Rhodeicut, because neither of those states have any population either, 2 more democrat Senators gone. Come to think of it, lets combine Vermont and New Hampshire, call it Verminshire. I think that will likely trim two more Senators of their seats, depending on how the vote goes in Laconia and Manchester. Go all one way hedge, or go the other.hedge wrote: ↑Sat May 08, 2021 11:48 am No you fool, I mean eliminate N. and S. Dakota and create East and West Dakota to replace them. But the far, far better and more rational idea would be to combine them into one state named, simply, "Dakota." That new state would still be in the bottom 10 of states by population. Actually you could go ahead and throw Montana in there and just name the whole thing Mondakota and it would still be outside the top 35 of states by population. 2 senators is way more than those people should be given the power to elect, but I guess you've got to give them something...
