"If you’re referring to Reed Sheppard, I wish he’d crawl back under that rock. He had an incredible game vs Mississippi State and is a projected lottery pick. I’ve seen him in the top 5 picks in recent mocks."
Not him, the Croatian (or ever where the hell he's from) dude that couldn't start playing until about 10 games ago...

In fairness, eCat was more sanguine about the kid than Crotch (and, evidently, DS) was:

Also, that Croatian professional probably makes Kentucky the best team in the nation, and while it's painful to imagine one of my alma mater's biggest rivals winning a title, it does warm my heart to see the yokels forced to grovel to Calipari in such a situation. Hopefully, Cal reverts to his not giving a fuck ways and regresses to putting out an overhyped, shitty product.
Cal will find a way to fuck it up

he blew up , but then looked like a newborn deer on defense so Cal wouldn't play him.
Now he getting minutes. My hope is that he comes back next year, but no one comes back so its a small hope

Ah, the UK fan's universal crie de coeur. Music to my ears...

Truer words have never been said. This is true even of a school not made up of One-and-dones (like UK.)
At U-of-A, Tommy Lloyd goes with an 8 man rotation. That's it, 5 starters and 3 bench. No more, no less. They have all the minutes, no other players get any real playing time. Of those 8, only 3 were on the team last year. Thank hedge and DS for Caleb Love, would you?

Dude, Caleb Love played 3 years at UNC. Bacot is a fifth year senior. We've got a true senior who is going to be ACC player of the year and likely an All American who very well may come back to UNC next year. UK has more one and done's in any given season than we've had this century...

I know. And Caleb might get Pac-12 player of the year. Thank you for training him up for us.

Yeah but we still got Caleb this year. I don't care about next year.

Its always been that way.
The transfer portal murders schools for continuity. We lost Kerr Krishna to (whomever) and he should be on the roster at U-of-A. He's not. Don't care where he is now. But the transfer portal just made a bad situation for continuity at a school, that much worst.

My point, dolt, is that UNC is a model of continuity compared to most schools...

Fair enough. Someone has to be the model.
As I said, we play 8. That's it. Only 3 of those 8 (Ballo, My-future-son-in-law-Larsson, and Boswell) were on the team last year. Those 3 start. Of the 5 that play that are new, one is Caleb, another played for the team that UConn beat in the national championship, 2 are frosh, and the last one is a sophomore who played at Alabama. I expect that Llyod will continue to have to make these dramatic changes, year after year, especially if he wants to challenge for a national championship year after year.

It’s hard to beat the feeling of watching those mother fuckers get their hopes up only to have them crushed.
Dook is our biggest rival, but it’s personal with that trade school in western Raleigh. I specifically asked two state grads to play golf with me this afternoon so that they will be forced to see my Carolina hat and shirt all afternoon.

story I had never heard before
Bobby Knight has an in home visit with Isaiah Thomas - and Thomas is there with his mom and 3 brothers. The second oldest brother asked Knight about Indiana and them having the Klan there, what would he do to protect Isiah. (admittedly, Knight probably thought this was a stupid question)
Knight said "well, if we're winning, he's fine, but if we lose, they can have him"
and Isaiah's brother got pissed off - so they throw some barbs at each other and Knight doesn't back down.
Isaiah's brother threatens Knight and says maybe we should take this outside.
So Knight stands up , takes off his jacket, rolls his sleeves up and says "lets go"
The family had to step in and stop it but Isaiah's mom said it helped decide that it was the school for him

Yeah, that story is fairly well known. I still hate that cocksucker Zeke though.
