The WORST possible outcome (for Chauvin) happened. It could not have gotten any worse. As it turns out, he had nothing to lose.

its just the reality of the situation. There is no way , regardless of make up of people that you are going to get an unbiased jury given what has happened as a result of his actions. Every juror knew a not guilty sentence would result in their city, and quite possibly their suburbs being on fire that night.

I can't get past how Chauvin was told the victim had no pulse and yet he kept at it for 3 1/2 more minutes. If he'd stopped there he'd probably be looking at being negligent in his duties and maybe a year or two in jail. He could see he was being videoed. If Chauvin isn't a complete psychopath, could he not comprehend his own peril in that situation? No pulse, yet you're going to remain indifferent and power on through? Wrong move...
