This is looking pretty much like the first game, i.e., if Bammer had hit their field goals, they would've won. It basically all comes down to the kicker. Just say Bammer had missed all their fg attempts tonight and lost, everybody would be like "Oooo, LSU is clearly the better team." But let Bammer hit a couple of fg's and they win and then magically they're the better "team". No, their fg kicker just happened to be either on or off on a certain night. This is not a disparagement of either Bammer or LSU, at all, just showing how judgements about an entire team can stand or fall on the performance of one man, however egregious those judgements may or may not be...

Damn. Jefferson needed to be yanked in the second quarter.

I appreciate a good game where teams run the ball and defenses play stout. So what if there isn't scoring, but this isn't that type of game. This is just offensive bedshitting of the highest order. LSU can't stop tripping on its own dick. Bama can't punch it in to save their life.

I disagree. You're watching the best defense in college dismantle an offense.

He was right about Bama not being able to punch it in for the big payoff, but that's about the only thing Bama hasn't done tonight. Not that it matters, field goals count too, but it's not like LSU's defense has been totally inept. Bama's D, however, has been annihilating and their offense is, in general, playing much, much better than LSU's. LSU looks lost. Bama is much more clearly the better team in this game than LSU was in the first game (not that you can even say that LSU was clearly or even slightly the better team in the first game. Looks like another natty title for Alabama. Roll Tide. Congrats to AA. Not a much better feeling for a fan...

On another note, how many times has Musberger referred to "the Honey Badger" tonight? Damn, Brent, get your tongue out of the kid's ass already...

Goddamn, Musberger just said "honey badger" four times after that last botched punt return, including "the honey badger fears no man", and "fear the Crimson Tide, honey badger." WTF??

Way to simultaneously salt away the victory and rub salt in the wound, Richardson...

That was basically an old-timey woodshed ass-whuppin'. In short order, Saban has approached, if not attained, Bear Bryant status. He and Roy kinda remind me of each other. I can assure you if Roy wins another NC, esp. this year, I put him in the same league as Deano...

Bryant won 6 NCs. Saban has some work to do.

The shutout isn't necessary for the current generation to understand the level of domination Bama showed in this game, but for legendary status, they need to keep LSU off the board. I'm pretty sure they're going to make it happen...

"Bryant won 6 NCs. Saban has some work to do."

How long did it take Bryant to win 6? I'd say Saban is well on pace...

Alot of fans might not find this kind of game compelling (to say the least), but I'm sure Bama fans are loving it. A title game victory of any kind is great, but a start to finish ass whuppin' is esp. sweet...

Bryant won 6 between 1961 and 1979. Saban has won 2 in 5 years. But he's 60-years-old.

This is the worst offensive performance in a BCS game ever. I've never seen a team so ill-prepared to play football as was LSU's offense. #72 might have been paid off, he was so bad. I realize that Kragthorpe has health issues, but he can't come back as your coordinator. The play calling, the preparedness, the gameplan, was the worst I've seen since Nebraska sat up there and got shutout by Miami in the Orange Bowl some years ago.

Congrats to AA. You don't have anything to apologize for. But my god this was bad football. Just fucking bad. I can't in good conscience really say that this was a particularly good year for college football. So there it is. Oklahoma State, Stanford, Oregon--hell, Houston--would've beaten LSU's ass tonight. They were just out to lunch tonight.

Horrible job by Les Miles and staff. Just incredibly bad. The flare passes to guys already covered, Jordan Jefferson running the option like he was looking for lost keys... #72 with all of his monumental fuckups--the one play where he simply ignored the DE lined up RIGHT THE FUCK IN FRONT OF HIM to help form a triple-team with the center and guard on the RT was hilarious. I would've taken his stupid ass out of the game. You can't tell me you're paying attention or even trying if you're gonna do something that stupid.

Seriously. This was just bizarre, how bad LSU's offense looked. I mean, to a man. This was just peculiar. Like the LSU offensive players thought this was a scrimage or something.

But, again, congrats to AA. Not your concern, man. If you had last year's offense to go with this defense, this would've been a 41-0 blowout.

My god that was shitty. Shame on Les Miles and staff. Saban > MIles, and it ain't even close.

Christ!

That was solid.

Congrats AA. Your team was Bacardi tonight.
