Does anybody know how Tennessee can have 33 commits? I thought the NCAA limited it to 25 or so. Maybe the Vols are counting some of them against Johnny Majors' classes.

They were once pretty formidable under Phat Phil. The Vols were a great team except in big games. Sorta like Georgia still is.

They had several solid teams:

1989, 1995: 11-1
1996: 10-2
1997, 2001: 11-2
1998: 13-0

They have pretty much sucked since 2007.

Looks to me like they had one good 4 year run then a couple of other good seasons a over a decade apart from each other...
