eCat — I see the Heels hired Kentucky’s NIL guru. Any thoughts on him?
I don't know much about Beisner, although UNC must have offered quite a bit to him as he was a UK guy dyed in the wool.
the issue with UK is the AD has a 1950's view on the NIL and many feel he is holding UK back, especially in football. Beisner probably realized he could do some great things somewhere else.

Appreciate the info, eCst. I was stunned when I looked up his bio. Definitely a UK guy. I’m just happy UNC is finally becoming proactive in the bag dropping race.

Where better to snag a seasoned bag dropper than UK?

I'm bummed they canceled the third season of the HBO series about the rise of the Lakers...

The series ended appropriately: with the Celtics beating the Lakers.
The Lakers only beat the Celtics in '85, '87 and '10 because the Celtics were ravaged by injuries during those Finals series (to say nothing of the fact that the Lakers won in 2009 only because the Celtics were hobbled due to KG being out for the season), and the Lakers bitched out and missed getting their asses kicked by the greatest Celtics team of all-time in '86.
The Celtics should have 20-21 banners. The Lakers should be sitting on 14, but they sold their souls to Satan. Cocksuckers.

does that number take into account Kansas's highest profile transfer just getting kicked off the team for rape?

Carolina at +3000 is a solid choice.
They will take some time to gel and learn each other, but if they stay healthy, they should be something by February if Hubert doesn't fuck it up.

I had forgotten the exact details of the 84 series, but it sure seemed like the Lakers gave that one away...

They were outsmarted by a healthy, Bird-led Celtics and choked when under pressure. The Celtics were tougher mentally, knew it and knew how to get the Lakers off of their (the Lakers’) game.
ESPN did a 3 part series on the rivalry, and episode 2 is all about the ‘84 series.
I remember my dad saying that people who didn’t even give a shit were tuning in to watch that series and talk about it because it was so damn riveting.

The various series b/w the Lakers and Celtics all kinda ran together for me. My most vivid memory on the NBA playoffs from the 80's was Sampson hitting that buzzer beater against the Lakers in the conference finals. It was b/w the end of the semester and summer school and I was at He's Not and barely anybody were there..
