We can't fix the potholes on I-95. No way we fund a highway that cuts through so many sovereign lands with tenuous relationships together.

I bet the highway to the Bering Straight already exists in one form or another, Russia would have to pay for the bridge

Awesome. It will never happen, just like the Duruan Gap fix into South America, but a guy can dream.

Stu had sorta that same dream 20 years ago. He still lives in that van.

Charles Lindbergh didn't risk his life so you can 90 years later say, "Heh, I'd rather just drive to London."

Ya gotta admit though. The lodging and gas stations would be very scenic. Especially in a storm.

I'm putting it up for sale. It keeps eating front tires. 4 sets in 4 years (just the fronts the last 2) and it's not out of alignment. I just need Hedge to give me his car so I'll have something to drive to work.

Some cool tricks...(start at 45 seconds or so, but even I didn't watch for more than 3 minutes)

I haven't seen pictures of the Kennedy compound in Hyannis or Palm Beach, but I don't know too many Presidential retirement homes as impressive as Richard Nixon's.

I think the cost of getting to and from My hotel to O'Hare is as almost the same cost as the plane ticket.

It costs $4.50 on the el.

How did sardis get a plane ticket for $4.50?

It was 10pm when I landed and 30 something degrees. Also, last trip to Chicago I took the El to O'Hare the train was disrupted at a stop and we had to load on buses to get to the next stop and reboard the train. Even, with that, I will probably take the train back. Just need to plan an extra 45 minutes to an hour.

It takes 45 minutes to get from Clark/Lake to O'Hare. Unless you are driving very early, that's probably faster than a cab.
