That is the way it goes. Tubelis got into foul trouble, Kerr couldn't hit a three, and Ballo was melting down. The best player we had on the bench (Larrson) fouled out. We lose. So be it.
Pac-12 tournament focus now.

"well jeez counsellor, there are worse things on this earth than losing to Dook TWICE in the same year."
The only thing on earth worse than losing to Dook twice in the same year would be losing to Dook thrice in the same year. Not sure if that's ever happened. If it has, I've blocked it from my memory. That's why last year was so special, we "only" beat them twice, but it was K's last game at Cameron and then again in the Final Four. They'll never warsh that stain away...

Bacot feels like a #2 big man on a team that typically likes to have a strong frontcourt. In my eyes Nance not being benched months ago is the biggest problem for them. They have a skilled backcourt but the threes are not consistent. Really hard to imagine how they went from playing in the final last year to this. The hillbilly looking fella was obviously their best player. And even with him I think it's clear they were in the lower tier of teams that make the finals, skillwise. If you replace Larry Bird with a below average SF for the Celts, they would have suddenly been very mediocre.
Duke, otoh, looks like a good bet to win 2-3 games in the NCAAs. I was wrong about Mitchell. He's not elton brand but a guy that can post up and drive the basket. May have the most NBA upside of anyone on the team.

Nor will the stain of getting swept by a freshman coach.

1988, 1999 and 2002 were three loss seasons, but we never lost to them in the Final Four in or in a game that was scheduled to honor a retiring coach

Love and Davis have regressed this year. The backcourt is far from strong:
Re Manek: he was a consistent outside threat and mature leader who held everything together last year
Re Bird: see the 1988-1989 Celtics when Bird missed all but a few games and the Celtics were left with Chief, McHale, a young Reggie Lewis, and an aging DJ. They finished 42-40 and were swept in the first round by Detroit

The team allowed shit to go to their heads, have had issues with effort and decision making at crucial times all year and had deficiencies already.
It was a recipe for disaster

I'm here. Watching Northern Kentucky and Cleveland State. Just chilling.
Incidentally, my BC Eagles play the Tar Heels tomorrow. Lets see what happens

hedge, I am under no delusions.
This is men's hoops in Greensboro. BC is playing UNC. BC's record vs UNC (since BC joined the ACC back in 2005) is deplorable. There is no fucking way the refs are going to let BC win this game in Greensboro. Everyone wants UNC in the ACC finals. So that will likely happen.

I'll give you credit for originality. I don't think I've ever heard a BC fan (or anybody else) blame the refs for BC losing to Carolina...

I haven't been to an ACC tournament since the 90's when it was in Charlotte one time. Does the tournament still sell out or are they losing attendance like other tournaments? I read that Greensboro could lose out on the rotation in favor of Charlotte even though Greensboro seats a whole lot more in their arena. I'm guessing the tournament doesn't need Greensboro's size?
