supposed to be nearly 3 hours long, its part 1 of 3 so they spend alot of time of time fleshing out the inbetween time from smallville to metropolis, which no other movie has really done
there is a rumour that cant be confirmed that there's also a fight scene between russel crowe (jor-el) & Zod on krypton... so they spend some time there too
i cant wait

Batman has obviously always been the darker/cooler character b/w those two, but some of the latest Superman movies have elevated his image from simple mamby-pamby nice guy who happens to have god-like powers. And even though Batman has always been the cooler character/imago/concept/whatever, the idea of Superman has always held a place of primacy on some level (maybe several levels). The basic unambivalent goodness, a guy who is always going to do the "right" thing instinctively (maybe the comfort in that is the illusion that there always IS a "right thing" to do in any given situation) and of course the aforementioned god-like powers (always attractive to humans - see Zeus, Odin, Jesus, etc). Looking forward to this one...
I don't know if Superman would hold the level of primacy that he does if not for the time when he was created. He benefited from our society's station during WWII. I think if he were created today, our cynical and less blindly Patriotic masses would not embrace him as tightly.

No doubt. It's actually kinda difficult to imagine anyone coming up with a character like Superman these days. Definitely a product of his times, as are most of us...

Wolverine is the closest to the Superman archetype that still holds a major prominence...and he is much more flawed of a human being.

I tried to watch "This is 40" last night and I couldn't get thru half of it. The previews made it seem really funny . They lied
I would think Paul Rudd would be money in a movie like that but it just went nowhere.

It's totally bipolar in its reviews. Some love it, some hate it.

I saw Oblivion tonight. Some plot holes and a few logic issues, but overall, a good popcorn flik.
