You are vulgar. Your behavior is unbecoming of a lawyer. Perhaps I should treat you like a special needs student?

So UNC shoots 8% from the 3 against Notre Dame (2 for 23) yet somehow manages to squeak out a win. Then we shoot 45.5% (10-22) against UVa and follow that up last night against FSU with 48.3% (14-29, including Leaky Brick, I mean Black going 3 for 4). We won by 11, but we were up by 16 with 6 minutes to go and FSU had cut that to 5 in just 3 minutes and even got it down to 4 with under 2 minutes to go, but we somehow managed to salt away a victory. It's just impossible to know with these guys which team is going to show up on any given night, but we're not going to beat any halfway decent team shooting like we did against Notre Dame nor by letting teams go on 11 point runs in 3 minutes.
I'm still hoping for a magic run like last year, but last year we really started cranking it up in early February after a horrendous loss to Duke, only lost one more regular season game after that and obviously the win over Duke in K's home finale was a huge springboard. This year we were 1-5 in February until the aforementioned 3 game streak. That's encouraging, but don't forget the 8% in one of those games and the almost shit-the-bed with under 6 minutes in last night's game.
I just don't get this team, we take a legitimately top 5 Alabama to 4 OT's earlier in the season and then go 1-5 in Feb this year when we really needed some wins. I still think we've got to beat Duke this weekend or else win the ACC tourny to get a bid to the NCAA tourny, and we'll be a low seed facing some of the highest seeds right off the bat. Well, we did that last year too, but I just don't see it happening twice in a row. Hope I'm wrong...

Bacot looks noticeably off. He has a limp that is more pronounced, and he doesn't seem to exude the same sort of energy. Pain can certainly affect one's energy, and I tend to think that is the problem and not attitude. Something is up with him, and it's worrying.
On a shocking note, we were much better down the stretch with Nance at the 5 than we were with Bacot. Maybe Bacot is just experiencing a slump due to fatigue after carrying the team for two seasons. Who knows, but it's worrying.
Re getting hot
It could happen, but I'm not betting on it. They won't catch teams sleeping this year. Baylor had lost one of its best players in February and was far from the beast it had been, and Carolina damn near blew what appeared to be an insurmountable lead. UCLA should have won the S16 game, but Caleb got white hot. St. Peter's was a cupcake. Dook was just a good match-up for us. KU got into foul trouble and couldn't hit gimme's in the first half then rolled us in the second half. Last year was catching lightning in a bottle with a decent -- but not great -- team that figured out how to maximize its potential at the right time in favorable situations.
Carolina has to beat Dook, win its Wednesday game in the ACC tournament and win its Thursday game to feel like it is in a play-in game, imho, and I don't think they can do that. They need to make it to Saturday night -- and maybe win the tournament itself -- to guarantee a bye via an 11 or 10 seed, and I sure as shit don't see that happening. Hell, I don't see this team winning on Wednesday and Thursday because of their lack of depth killing them in back-to-back game situations.
Dook concerns me. Lively ate Bacot up and spit him out down low last time, and this team is due a cold shooting night. They have played together as a unit for three years and have yet to figure out how to close out a game down the stretch. It's fucking maddening.
This is the state of Carolina basketball. We're in deep shit as a program if we're having this conversation again amidst a fourth straight season of double digit losses.
Also, Happy Birthday, Coach Smith.

Lively was good but that Mitchell fella looked like he could be the next Elton Brand. Not going to be an easy time for UNC to win.

Boston College won. Again. Amazing isn't it?
If BC beats Georgia Tech and Wake Forest beats Syracuse, BC gets a fucking BYE in the first round of the ACC tourney. A bye.
