UCLA played an outstanding game late last night in Salt Lake City.

But THIS press conference, THIS is the one the media is crawling all over on the West Coast.

Coach Cronin on the first week's bracketology wrote:I think the committee made their selection based on UCLA leaving the Pac-12. Costing people millions of dollars. If you want a word from me on that initial ranking (#2 in a bracket, #8 in the country), comical.
He refused to get into it regarding Arizona. Our last game with them looms large, just 8 days.

Tickets for tomorrow's game in Tuscon vs ASU, they are hitting $270 a pop. Ridiculous.

UCLA could've (and some might say should've) beaten us last year in the Sweet 16, which would've virtually guaranteed them a spot in the FF. From there they would've had just as good a chance to win it all as any of the other teams. Not saying they would have, but even just getting into the FF they would've had all the hype that UNC got at the beginning of the year and obviously would have lived up to it. 3 of their 4 losses were to ranked teams (the other was a rivalry game vs. USC, anything can happen there) and 2 of those losses were in November, so that hardly counts. I wouldn't want to be in their bracket, but if we somehow make the tourny this year I guarantee you we will be. They will embarrass us in the highly unlikely event that we play them...

They were my sleeper last year. Almost won my bracket if they beat you stiffs. I just love the style Mick plays. He's got the Huggy Bear in him with some west side Cincy fuck you.

May not mean anything on the East Coast, but on the WEST Coast, the debate on who the best college hoops team rages on in the local media:

UCLA or Gonzaga or Houston or U-of-A or Kansas

When we are talking West Coast, we are talking West of the Mississippi river. And there is a lot of "angst" as a result of that because people on the East Coast will have already gone to bed before many of the games here even tip-off. So (with the exception of Houston or Kansas) the media really doesn't clue in to how strong these teams are.

U-of-A beat UCLA already. We beat 'em. We get them again, last game of the regular season. LIKELY we will see them a THIRD TIME in Las Vegas in the Pac-12 tournament. Yes, there is a lot of HATRED right now in the Pac-12 because of USC and UCLA leaving us. The other ten schools are acting like your average BPD-raged-girl who feels like her boyfriend is about to abandon her. She runs to the cops/authority the same way the other ten schools have been running to the lawyers to see if there is anything we can do to stop this before it happens.

We are not stopping this.

So in the mean time, bring on the hate. I hope my Wildcats whale the living shit out of UCLA in such a humiliating way as to send a message to them loud and clear, yeah you are leaving for the money. But do not ever think for one second you are leaving for better competition. Because I'll take U-of-A over Purdue this year, that is for damn sure.

Purdue is practically a west coast team, according to your definition...

Well one thing is for certain, God may not have helped ASU with that last second 3-pointer, but He sure didn't stop it.

Doesn't really matter. I would rather have these heart breaking losses NOW than in March.

“Hitting $270 a pop.”

$270 doesn’t get you in the door for a big time game around here unless you’re in the nose bleeds

it was a great shot. A heart breaker

FSU had the same shot to do the same thing

same thing with San Diego State.
