Was that Pat Trammel (spelling?) in the pic with JFK and Kennedy? That MNC team with him as qb would have occurred during the JFK era. I have always made jokes about Bear and Bama, but when I read about what Bryant did for Trammel's kids and the other things he did for people, I gained a lot of respect for the man. He certainly had his demons and issues like all of us, but he seems to have been a good and decent man at his core.

Yes.

Here is a breakdown of who's who in the photo:

For those who are curious, Yankee legend Mel Allen is in the pic because he was a UA alum and pulled some strings.

Neither would Bum Phillips.

BTW, at Bryants last game at Neyland, he received an ovation from the UT fans as he was coming off the field after warm-ups.

True dat, 10ac. There was a ton of mutual respect back then. Hopefully, we get back to those days.

Well, we beat the Mighty Mocs. Had a banged up lineman (Arie K), but I think he'll be okay.

Auburn week.

While I'd love to beat the everliving shit out of Urban Meyer, I gotta pull for the Tide this week. Assuming we win out, you gotta beat the best to be the best, and there's no question Bama is the team of the 21st century so far.

Thanks. I wouldn't mind seeing Florida State in the game. A lot of road to travel before that happens, though: Bama has #4 Auburn and if we win, we'll play Missouri (who will be ranked #4 or higher).

Auburn's one-dimensional offense will be no challenge at all for Bama, I see a 2-3 TD victory.

I haven't seen enough of Mizzou to know how overrated they are, but I'm sure they are quite overrated. Good DL, good receivers, not sure about the rest.

Auburn will score on us. It takes discipline to play those teams and sometimes we're not. I think Mizzou is solid. Really, it took some epic foot shooting for them to lose to SoCar. Otherwise, they'd be undefeated.

I think we win both games, but I am old enough to remember too many games that we shoulda won but let slip away. Honestly, last year's TAMU game comes to mind. This could be a repeat of that.
