I found another map face. Western border of Montana looks like a large-foreheaded person looking down on Idaho. Damn, snob...
The current popular internet meme is that Montana is shaped like Joe Biden sniffing Idaho

can you imagine the outrage if Trump was losing , Biden was leading Ohio and Ohio announced they would suspend vote counting until later, and then when it resumed, Trump start surging with 85% vote tallies?
People would be burning down cities
but since this situation is reversed, its Democracy in action and we should celebrate the process.

I assume that some of these will go back blue as ballots are found In the mail, but it’s conceivable that the GOP will carry a slim majority in the house right now (which is not surprising with a more republican electorate than expected in the polls, the average congressional district is more replublican [gerrymandering!] than the country at large)

it is what it is at this point
I doubt Trump will go quietly into the night but if Biden wins and there is no proven fraud, then Americans should accept it and get on with their lives.
I really don't believe there is any fraud that amounts to anything. Huge voter turnout is a great thing, voting should be compulsory. But we really should do a better job with the technology available in terms of counting votes.

"but it’s conceivable that the GOP will carry a slim majority in the house right now"
Are you saying the House is in play for the Republicans?

The GOP would take the house if they won all the undecided seats that they currently lead for, but it is highly unlikely they will when all votes are counted (but possible)

As of the time of this post you can see 171 called GOP seats. 46 of the seats listed in grey are currently led by a Republican in vote count, adding up to 217 if that were to hold. 218 would give outright control.

It feels absurd that we have no idea who won 80+ seats in the middle of the next day. Virtually everybody in the media called the House Majority for the Democrats last night, and most speculated on air that Dems had gained seats.

Trump was demanding that they stop counting last night...

"But we really should do a better job with the technology available in terms of counting votes."
Going with popular vote winner take all would eliminate this issue...

the founding fathers were pretty adamant about making sure the majority could never impose their will on the minority. I think the electoral college does a good job of keeping that from happening.

The main reason they did that was to appease slave states who feared that as the country expanded, they would lose influence and who were, as you say, adamant about not being told they couldn't have slaves by the non-slave-owning majority. Not exactly a great reason to hang one's hat on when arguing for minority rule, which I doubt the Founders were shooting for either...

LOL. So now Trump is just gonna go ahead and declare victory in Pennsylvania without waiting.
They also sued for PA to wait on counting votes until observers could be be present and the count proceed transparently. Then this led to the PA Attorney General declaring that they will not allow any interruptions in vote counting, which is rich, coming from a state that as far as I can tell just stopped counting and reporting votes last night at like 11. What a shitshow.

I thought PA announced well before yesterday that they weren't going to start counting early and mail-in votes until today....

I'm reading that Wisconsin had 89% voter turnout.
In the past five elections they did not break 74%

I actually believe their current claim is "we never stopped counting!"
