Fortunately, Adobe Photoshop came already installed on my laptop. Just wish I knew how to use it.. Paint Shop Pro was a piece of cake. Photoshop is another story.

...... and another great feature that came already installed was Trend lifetime antivirus... I clicked on the info tab and it said it expired in 2042... which should be about the same time I do.

There's a tutorial online, usually at Youtube, for just about anything you want to do on Photoshop.

Yeah, I've just spent about an hour looking at some of those tutorials... my mind is totally messed up... can now relate to Goldie. About the only way I could understand Photoshop is to take a class on Photoshopping or have someone sit down with me and instruct step by step on how to use all the gadgets. Way too much info for this old geezer to comprehend. If I was 10 years old again, it would be a piece of cake. :D

That's the problem, you don't need to know how to use all the gadgets. I doubt anyone knows how to use all the gadgets and there's no need to for someone in your shoes. Just focus on what you want to learn and keep it at that. Even when you learn something new on PS, you probably won't retain it unless you do it every day.

..but the problem I have is sometimes I'm OC and want ALL the info knowledge at my fingertips to use... :D Really bugs me when there's a gadget I can't figure out. Guess I'll just have to settle for cutting and pasting for now... that I can do. Either that or purchase Paint Shop Pro.

I just can't learn something for the sake of learning it. I have to have the need first.

I wanted to start colorizing some old photographs and I had Photoshop 7.0. After reading up I learned that PS CS4 had so feature that captured an entire section based on color or boundaries which would have made the job alot easier, but I would have never learned that if I wasn't motivated to solve a problem.

I'm pretty much that same way.... and the older I get, the less patience I have during the learning process. Years ago I could have sat down with a program like Photoshop and learned the basics in no time flat. Not anymore... brain cell evidently not firing on all cylinders like the younger years. The older I get, the more I understand my dad during his later years.... but mom was sharp as a tack up until the day she died... could do just about anything she set her mind on to do.
