That happened to me, too. Except it really was the DEA and the drugs weren't purchased online...

I had something like that happen to me. It was an unpaid fast pass toll or whatever. Said that I had failed to appear and they were issuing an arrest warrant. We don't really have fast pass or whatever here, and when out of town, I'm in a rental. Had a good idea it was fake so I started fucking with the guy.

I don't give money to my legitimate creditors, much less ones who just call and say I owe them money.

I got carded today buying beer because we had company coming by (I don't drink beer...and my old college roommate was not gonna go for the Bulleit, Milagro, Titos or Glenfarclas that I keep in the house). I'm not gonna lie, it made my day. I embraced my feminine side at that moment.

I lots of states they have to card you no matter if you look 150. In Tennessee it was an attempt to keep beer out of the hands of illegals.

I honestly forget what the NY rules are. I don't think it's a mandatory card, as I haven't been carded in years. Either way, I cracked up and she looked at my license and apologized...which cracked me up more.

I was in NYC this weekend, was kinda shocked on Sunday when I ordered a bloody mary at brunch at 11:30 and they said they couldn't serve alcohol until noon. In NYC?? I was disappointed. Of course, they had the table set up with drinks all around by the time the food got there, a few minutes before noon, but still, I didn't think NYC would have any restrictions on booze like that...

Another benefit of visiting NYC is that I'll no longer grumble about paying $8 for a good cocktail at nice places in NC. $30 for a glass of wine, $18 for cocktails (very good wine and cocktails, I might add, but still) and even paid $10 for a bottle of freaking Budweiser (it was all they had) at the cafe at the Met. Good lord. Made me not feel so bad about only "donating" $10 to get in, instead of the recommended $25...

"we're in the yardhouse in KC sunday and they carded my daughter then carded my wife."

Went with the MIF to Columbia earlier this year, took the young 'un and 4 of her little hottie friends out to eat. They all had fake ID's and I think having two adults there smoothed it over. So we're sitting there having our drinks before dinner arrives and some older man walks over and says to me "you're a very lucky man, how did you do it?", clearly indicating I was lucky to be sitting there with 5 young hotties (and the MIF, too, she holds her own for her age). I was like "Yes, I am very lucky", then I put my arm around little hottie sitting beside me and said the guy, by way of introduction, "This is my wife". Even the sometimes dour MIF got a kick out of that...

I don't know about the whole "no alchohol before noon" thing. If so, it's not followed too strictly because my wife loves mimosas.

The other thing is, tourist prices will always outdo regular NY. I rarely do $18 for cocktails. The norm is $12 for premium alcohol. Beer is never more than $8. You were Times Squared (even if you weren't in Times Square).

LOL on the 5% haircut...

I've been carded. I take it as an aggravation and waitstaff trying to be cutesy. "Hey, let's card the old guy! Hahaha! Yes, let's!"

In the end, that cutesy move delayed my ETOH dose by at least two minutes by the time I dig my license out.

Bah fucking humbug.

Well, I guess if you're ordering Mccallan 25 with Diet Dr. Pepper, a few minutes more of a wait isn't that bad.

Yeah, I figured, but for only one weekend, I didn't mind. We drank at Death & Co. (and the little bitters bar next door while we waited for a table), ZZ Clam bar and one other place I can't remember the name. Ate at ZZ, Momofuku (Ssam Bar), Roberta's, Marta, and Marea's. I'm tapped out...

Saw a bottle of 37 Year Old Lagavulin at a wine/liquor store (Astor Place) this weekend for $3400. I passed...
