I've always liked Canadians. In many ways they're almost like real people.

I like Canada and Canadians too. They're like European Americans. When I was there last week, I kept thinking this is what Obama wants to turn America into.
There was a lot of local talk about this article:

it's all good, i like it up here...but i would caution that our heath care system is waning at this point...the flush of dollars and budget spending usually is at the top...
right now, where i live.....you cannot be seen by a physician in a timely manner unLESS it's an emergency or unless you drive a couple of hours to the T'oontown and find a walk in clinic. There's eight docs in the next town covering something like 35000 folks...if i was sick today, i could go on a wait board of about 70 names, or get an appointment in two weeks... I think we're going to have to be more self sufficient and mindful of our own well being.
we are in doctor shortage crisis....

My Canadian cousin says their police ruthlessly enforce seatbelt and helmet laws - which we consider to be victimless crimes because they don't pose a risk to anybody else but the driver. But in Canada, if there is an accident which causes the driver to run up a million dollar medical bill because he/she wasn't wearing a helmet or a seatbelt, they ALL pay for it. Interesting perspective.

i think the issue is prevention of long-term care for injuries such as that..which..i think, is something the insurance companies push for so they don't have to payout longterm funds
....same as smoking..if you smoke and get lung cancer, everyone pays for it...but our cigarettes are super taxed, so i like to think smokers are prepaying their demise...
when i think of it more...they're probably having to pay more for helmet and seatbelt injuries anyhow, because if people just didn't wear them, folks would probably be dead and there ends the medical cost...just like that..
