I want to die peacefully in my sleep like my grandfather.

Not screaming in terror like his passengers.

Speaking of snakes, I saw a documentary about professional wrestling the other night, Jake the Snake figured prominently. Man, that dude is fucked up. Total crack head, fucking multiple women at a time - not that there's anything wrong with that, except when he said "And then you come off the road and try to make love to your wife. Uh-uh, it ain't happening, not after what I'd experienced." Completely estranged from his daughter. Wouldn't be surprised if he was the role model for Mickey Roarke's character in "The Wrestler"...
I think what you saw was Beyond The Mat. And that movie does a great job of showing how bad Jake the Snake really was. And Yes, The Wrestler is the Jake The Snake story without giving any money to anyone named Jake the Snake.

change of seasons is overrated. I thought like that the first year in SF but then I got used to the 4 seasons they had there: rainy and chilly; warm; foggy and chilly; warmer

Not surprisingly, they've overstated our highs for the weekend. We were projected to hit 107 today and it looks like we won't even crack the century mark, and now they're saying there's a decent chance that our highs we drop into the upper 80s by the end of next week.

I guess I should expect snow next Friday.

I'd say there were a few ass puckering moments when the water was over the windshield and the cab was filling up

They must have spent $10K on that fancy novelty check alone. That was 1 more acre. They could have done more. They could have done more.

so what part of the country is soon-to-be Hurricane Katia going to fuck up? why doesn't coastal Georgia ever get a bad storm? I'd say it's time for Savannah to taste some wrath.

Yep, but thankfully, there is an alternative to all-state for the northwest's bad drivers.

I predict Katia is going to etch her name alongside Fran & Floyd in NC hurricane lore.

They keep talking about it turning north and going out to see, but some models are starting to show it going on a more westerly track towards NC.
I proudly took AFAM 040 at Carolina.
